Sure, it's my pleasure! I remember reading up as much as I could before going down, and always felt that if I could, I would try and help others wanting to experience the program.

hey everybody
here is an update on my status.
a disney recruiter called me today because i told them i would be willing to do more roles (attractions, character attendant, merchandise, and main entrance operations). they told me that the fall program recruiting season was coming to a close and that the programs i wanted was full. and i thought oh crap i am not going to get in.
but then they said that the fall advantage program was still open and if i was willing to do that i could do merchandise. so i said yes.

it was a very stressful 3 minutes, but it worked out in the end.
so i guess i will seeing you all in may!

now i just have to get up the courage to call the summer internship i got and tell them i can no longer do it. (any advice)

Just a little update!! The day after my daughter, Kristin, came home in tears thinking she did not get in from the vibe from her rep at her school, the woman called her the following day to tell her she got in!!!! Needless to say, we are all THRILLED:yay: :yay: :yay: . She should hopefully be getting her packet soon so she knows her move in date. She is SOOOOOOO excited and we are so proud of her too. This has been a big dream of hers for so long and it has finally come to fruition. I can't wait to open that mail box and pull out that packet. My neighbors will think I'm I won Publishers Clearing House when they see me jumping in the street!!! :rotfl2:  The only down side is the flights are coming out on SW tomorrow and we still won't know the move in date but hopefully we won't have a problem. I know August is a busy month at Disney. Also, I just want to say, I love these boards. Everyone is so helpful and supportive of each other. I could stay on these boards all day (if my husband would let me quit my job - not happening!!):flower3:

Please keep in mind that we alumni do not have any real insight into anything and can only offer opinions based on our experiences, things that we hear that may or may not be true, and the like.

Some of Chris' posts, while insightful, come off as being "authoritative" when the reality is that he is just expressing his thoughts and opinions. I, for one, would appreciate him citing where his info comes from so that it could be double checked for accuracy.

Be sure to double check ANYTHING that I write, Chris writes, or any other alumni writes with an official source before taking it as fact. Your best source of info is the CP site and the recruiting office (I'd recommend emailing instead of calling).

Not to start a fight or anything - I was simply thanking him for being so willing to answer questions and being there for those of us w/ children just starting this process - I personally have found no "offensive" in any of his post and guess that I personally don't appreciate being spoken "down to" by someone I wasn't even speaking to in the first place. You have a total right to your opinion but I also have a right to thank someone who is helping me out as well.

I just received an email today that I was accepted. It has been two weeks and a day since I interviewed and sent my stuff in. I still have not received my letter but I also haven't been home to check yet. lol

Sure, many of my posts come from my own experience and analysis of the program, but some of the things I do post are easily backed up by the official website (sometimes buried several layers deep). If I don't explicitly know something to be true by first hand-knowledge, then I make it clear that this is the case, and I usually indicate a source (some friends that are campus reps, etc).

I don't believe my posts are authoritative- but I hope they would come off as thorough. I do some research before posting (it's not all "yeah, I think that's right") and do link back to my research when I feel that something could be objectionable. I also like to think that I have benefited from spending just short of an entire year at Disney on the program, going through multiple facets every single of the program's keystone features (multiple apartments in different complexes, multiple roles, multiple classes). I'd encourage anyone to backup information they get from anywhere with official sources. In fact, my blog mentioned that from day one that people should check with official sources. I do misspeak sometimes, too. I'm certainly not out to post anything aside from accurate information, however.

It's all water under the bridge though. I think we're all just trying to help. :)

Congrats!

Does everyone who gets accepted receive an e-mail???

Depends what you mean. If you mean an email with a role offer, I haven't really noticed that, though it probably happens every once in a while. I've personally never received one of those- I think that for the better part, Disney relies on the USPS for candidate notification.

However, there should be a confirmation email sent after they receive & process the program assessment fee, and I've noticed reminder emails being sent after that point leading up to arrival as well.

Congrats to you and you daughter, by the way! :thumbsup2

i just read your post & called the recruiting office. i only checked off attractions & merchandise [i'm doing careerstart] on my application & i asked if i had less chances of getting in because of that. she said that if i DID check off more i would have more opportunites, but if those were what i really wanted & i feel like i am a good candidate & thought i had a good interview then i wouldn't have to worry much.

i also asked if doing fall advantage gave me a better chance of getting in, & she said that it doesn't really matter.

that's just what a recruiter told me.

I did not get an e-mail.
My packet came 5 weeks after the interview. I did not end up with one of the "fab 5" roles so I'm way excited! :) Should be a good time.

I did not receive an email for any of my 4 CPs- the acceptance came in letters for each. The only thing I got an email for, was my second CP telling me I didn't pass the audition.

when i applied two years ago and got accepted i did receive an e-mail telling me i was accepted before i got the packet.
i thought it was a little bizarre... but i have gotten that e-mail.

It finally came! My daughters packet finally came today!!! It has been 7 weeks and 4 days since her interview.....a lot longer than most but worth the wait!!! She will be in merchandising. Woohoo!!:worship: :yay: :love1:

I heard from the CP program almost exactly 2 weeks after my interview. Best of luck to those waiting to hear!

I interviewed on a Friday afternoon and received my packet three Tuesdays after my interview...

Congrats to your daughter! I will also be doing merchandise!
