Miss Saffron will especially enjoy the latest in the Debsterville Animal Kingdom Escapades. Personally, I could certainly have lived without this.

I get home from work, and DH and DS (age 7) are outside sanding the deck, getting it ready for staining. Well, DS cannot contain himself from telling me what they found in the crawlspace. IN MY HOUSE. :faint: A snake skin. ICK ICK ICK ICK. That means at some point, there was a snake INSIDE this house. :faint: I cannot live in harmony with a slitherly thing in my house.

Arrrrrgghhhh. :faint:

edited because I think I made pugdog mad at me. (who knew?)

Yuck. That is creeping me out just thinking about it.

Karen

Yeah me too. Thanks a lot.

Ack... Deb, that would probably creep me out too!!! Mostly because I would worry about a snake around my cats!!!!! But I hope that the snake is long gone and you'll never have to be reminded of this again!!!

Last summer, I was in my garden pulling weeds as I do every day. And sticking out og my Clematis vine. Was a very thick snake head, It was not moving, I jumped back at first Then thought. It was not real. I actually thought it was my Ds's rubber snake from the Indianna Jones show. I went and got him and told him how UNFUNNY... I found this joke.

Where he then told me his snake is brown not Black!!!!

I screamed my next door neighbor heard all the commotion and came running up to see. And said, Ahhhhhh.... Here he is. EXCUSE ME??????He then tells me he found under my swingset,
( mind you) a 6 foot snake skin, but did not want to alarm me. He had it hanging in his garage. OH great.

The snake in the clematis vine was already dead, it had gotten itself caught in the netting holding the vine and died. The neighbor went home got an AX and chopped my vine down BOO HOO!!! and chopped the snake up in little pieces.
Now let me say, I live on Cape Cod.... Large snakes are not at all common here!
We called wildlife control and they came out and said. It was an Eastern Black racer. Non Poisonous. But delivers a very nasty bite. To this day. once I can not see my foot in the flowers, I do not go in the garden!

Hey Deb :wave2:

You have my sympathy!! I hate snakes. I know there are snakes around here. My BIL lives a couple blocks away (in EB) and finds BIG snakes in their yard. I've lived in this house for 5 years and have never seen a snake in my yard until this past Memorial Day when I was having a BBQ and a friend of DSs found one way out back behind the shed. It was tiny and actually cute. LOL But I made him take it WAY out back to the woods. I just hope he (or any of his snake buddies) doesn't find his way back near my house!!!!!!

Yuck! Around here the only good snake is a dead snake!

Snakes are not uncommon here in Southern Illinois, especially since we live only a short distance from the Ohio river. A couple of years ago, I was standing in my living room talking on the phone with my mom when I saw a snake coming across the street toward my house. My kids were outside and my mom says "just get a brick and throw at it!" Yeah, right. I got in my car and proceeded to run over that little invader. I went back and forth and back and forth and stopped and turned the tires and then went back and forth some more. I kept looking out the door throughout the day and if I thought I saw that thing moved I'd get in the car and go pay it another visit! When DH came home from I told him about my day and he went to see what kind of snake it was. When I told him all of the details he thought it was hilarious! He thinks it was a copperhead but there really wasn't enough left for him to really tell. Guess I did a good job then, huh?

Oh pastor and his wife think I am terrible for killing snakes. They are both biologists but I am a chicken and if I get to the snake before it gets to me it's bye-bye little snake.

I HATE snakes, I will send you some of those compressed packing bags to help you vacate the premises.

And gee, thanks, now I don't know what you edited......

I'm all creepy crawly feeling now.:earseek:

A person I know bought an old house. In the basement's rafters they found a whole BUNCH of snakes! I swear, I would have moved to a hotel and put a "For Sale" sign on the front lawn IMMEDIATELY.

They called an exterminator. Brave souls.:p

Mwahahahaha Pam. BB is actually going to put it in a shadow box/frame and hang it on his wall. *shiver*

I can relate. I walked out back last night to put some steaks on the grill and let out a big scream. There was a snake skin in the yard. Yuk!!!
