I was just wondering if anyone has used Acai to aid in weight loss. You can get it in pill form but I believe it's best if used in the purest form you can get it in which I believe would be juice form. I had my DH pick some up for me this afternoon.

I tried searching for posts with acai in it and I got nothing so if this has been asked or talked about can you please link me to it! Thanks!

I don't think that acai is all that it is cracked up to be. They claim that Oprah recommended it or promoted it somehow but on her web site there is a disclaimer that she has nothing to do with it. I just don't think that there is a quick fix or pill that is going to do the trick and some of those supplements can be dangerous depending on your personal health situation.

Good luck on your journey to good health!

I agree that the pill is most likely marketing hype but the fruit itself is great. It is very high in antioxidants and tastes great.

I have purchased the juice but I prefer to get a frozen slush which Whole Foods Sells. I just add it to the blender with juice and some other frozen fruit and make a smoothie. Unfortunately it is not cheap though.

I agree completely with the pills being hype. I would never take diet pills to begin with because I do have a heart defect and even if I didn't diet pills aren't known to be an answer to long term weight loss unless you continue to take them forever.

I myself usually follow the weight watchers point system to keep myself in check.

My husband picked me up a bottle of 100% acai juice and it's organic from a local health food store. It was $30 for a 32oz bottle.

FireDancer~Thanks for posting about the slush form of Acai. I haven't tried the juice yet but I may have to check out Whole Foods.

Thanks for the replies thus far
