I don't see where Disney has anything to fix. They make limited scope discounts available all the time. I live in IL and I don't begrudge people who live in FL their special resident discounts.

I too want to steer WAAAAY clear of debates...I just wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to your husband for his service and partnership in the conflict. I really thought it was couragous of Mr. Blair to take the position he did. I come from a very military family and had a brother in law over the middle east serveral times in the past years. I'm proud of all the guys and gals that serve, both in conflict and not.

Hat's off to you and your husband and I too wish Disney would see themselves clear to extending the thanks to all coalistion partners. It's fair to me in every respect. MHO!

Will certainly be e-mailing Disney after I have sent this post.

Anyone that has has the opportunity to meet both Mary and Stevie Kay will know that they are very kind and caring people. They have invested alot of money in their DVC property and have plans to visit WDW for the next 39 years!!!

I can see her point. Her husband served as an ALLY to us Americans. He helped in the physical battle of the war. With a company as big as Disney and one that says they make Magic happen, why not offer tickets (free or discounted) to our friends and allies.............

disney got rid of the Disney club were they offered discounted tickets............I really don't see the big deal in offering a discounted ticket??!!! They are offering a pay for 4 days not and stay for 7!!! To me, offering discounted tickets to our ALLIES would be alot cheaper then giving families an extra 3 days at WDW!!!!!

I am not speaking for Mary herself, but I don't think it is truly a matter of dollars than a matter of principle!! I really don't think she needs to "get over it and pay like everyone else". I thought that comment was pretty crude and harsh!!!

I thank you Stevie Kay, for helping to defend our country and I look forward to seeing you all again this summer.

Although I can understand why it might be good business practice, Disney doesn't owe anyone any discounts except the ones they choose to make.

I was in the Trade Center on 9/11, helped clear over 60 employees, spent 2 weeks getting our banking systems up to help stem economic collapse - and wasn't eligible for a thing from Disney. but anyone who was a First responder (whether they ever got near New York) was eligible for massive discounts, free vacations, etc.
Was I irked - well, it would have been nice to be recognized for what I did and went through even though I wasn't a uniformed officer (yes, some people who were not in unfiorm actually performed many thousand acts or heroism that day), but I didn't think I was entitled, and certainly didn't feel the need to push Disney to give me something. An dyes, I own DVC and am a Disney sharehodler as well. I spent more vacation $$ there than anywhere else in the world.

Would it be good business - yes. Was I entitled - no.

Just MHO

I sent them an email that they should include all military including coalition forces...

only read first post here so I dont know how this thread turned out, But I think what ever or millitary gets we need to also give to or good freinds in England
