Please tell me of your past experiences, what are the cheapest, hotles/motels, close to Disney that are clean, safe and nice. Thanks!

The Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista has gotten decent reviews, and sometimes it's on Travelzoo for $29-39 a night.

I stayed at the Best Western Lakeside a few years ago for one night before our stay at a WDW hotel. It was fairly nice and for the most part clean. We did not use or even look at the pool. I got it on Priceline for about $20 a night. I think they may have added a resort fee now, but i am not sure. The hotel was on I-drive and about a 5 min drive from the big Disney welcome sign--the one you drive under--if that makes sense.

I would use Priceline again in a heartbeat for a hotel near WDW if you are not staying on property.

Don't forget about your daily parking fee when you come from offsite each day - unless you have an AP or PAP.

There is a Super 8 at 5876 West Irlo Bronsson Hwy in Kissimmee that is highly rated on Trip Advisor. About $40.00/night most nights and from most of the reviews clean and basic.

about 2 1/2 miles from disney with free shuttle Rodeway Inn Maingate 5995 W. Irlo Bronson Hwy. , Kissimmee, about $32 cheaper with AARP or AAA

We have used the Continental Plaza Hotel in Kissimmee and used hotels.com to get a good deal. Our rates have varied between 24 and 36 bucks the past year or so. There is a 2 buck resort fee.

We do breakfast in our room and are in the parks all day. Then we come "home", clean up, and go to bed. I can't comment on their breakfast or their pool. We use hotels.com because you can get your money back if you change your mind.

It is about 3 minutes from AK and you can take a "back way" quite easily for quick access to DHS and EP as well. As with anything off site, it takes a few extra minutes to go to MK.

We have an AP so the parking fee is a non issue for us.

Keep checking pin codes for Disney Value Resorts - unless you need to stay offsite. I know $29 & $39 can't be beat, but I've gotten them as low as $49/night in the fall - then you've got ME from the airport & all the WDW perks.

Saralago can be had for less than $30 a night in most seasons. In fact, there is a whole lot of cheap places that are good enough near Old Town in the $25 range. Safe area, IMO.

We have always stayed at the Seralago. Its very near maingate and quite decent. Its not fancy. But its clean and there is a shuttle available.
You can usually find a coupon for them in the roomsaver mags along i-95

I second this one. I have stayed here and my sister and friend also did based on my recommendation. It is inexpensive, GREAT location, cheap breakfast included, frig in room, decent pool. The carpet and paint/wallpaper could use updating but hey - for $40 a night what do you expect?

I'm so glad to read more positive posts about Seralago! We'll be there in May for the first time. I got the whole week (6 nights, 7 days) for less than $270 w/tax. :woohoo:
I made sure I read a LOT of reviews before I booked it and I don't foresee any problems (plus I emailed them regarding a special they were running and their CS emailed me back very quickly) ~ good CS is a big plus for me! :thumbsup2

Seralago is a pretty big place. Some rooms have stood the test of time better than others. I would ask for another if the first does not fit your needs. It is certainly no 4 star place, but if you just need a room it is fine. Plus they do have an OK pool area and such. So many good eateries down there. Within minutes of there you can find Pizza Hut, Bob Evans, every fast food joint, Red Lobster, Uno, etc. WalMart is near. And Old Town is actually sort of fun for an quite diversion. Great place to stay.

Are you signed up for Mousesavers?

"For a limited time, Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World® Resort is offering fantastic rates on selected dates, exclusively for MouseSavers Hot Deals readers. These rates are per night, not including tax or parking, for up to six guests* in a standard suite!

This offer includes the MouseSavers.com special FREE daily continental breakfast for up to two adults and two children staying in the suite, plus a 20% off coupon for other meals! Available for select dates:

2/21/10-3/10/10 (check out by 3/11/10) - starting at $79/night*"

This price is for a SUITE with FREE BREAKFAST and GREAT BUS SERVICE TO THE PARKS. I found the bus service to be better than POP's. And it is very close in Downtown Disney.

I also agree with this one. I am currently keeping check on the travelzoo site hoping this deal will come back available. We stayed there last year and it was fine. The only problem was that the traffic noise is terrible. I had to take Benadryl at night, just to get some sleep. I didn't know until we got back that I should have requested a parking lot view room so we'd be away from the noise. Other than that, it was fine. The rooms have a microwave and refrigerator in it. I have read that they have also remodeled all of their rooms.

ETA: It is very close to Disney! It's right outside of Downtown Disney. It has security at the entrance, so it's safe.

We did Spring Hill Suites in Lake Buena Vista (we stayed with points) about 6 years ago and I was happy. Free breakfast in the morning and we didn't come back until the parks close went to bed and then got up and did the same thing the next day.

If I was going to pay 69-79.00 for a offsite hotel I would just stay at a wdw value resort...so you can get all the perks that come along with it.

For that time period very basic rooms in value resorts are $125, not including breakfast.

We are going in November and staying the first night at the Doubletree Quest Suites in DTD on our points before moving onsite the nest morning. I have to say that I looked into this hotel and it looks very nice and seems very reasonably priced. Plus, it's one of the DTD resorts, so we have someting that's convenient to do that night.

If that were a feasible option, I'm sure that is what most people would do.
We definitely enjoyed the times we were able to stay at the All-Stars ~ however, this time we would have to either get 2 rooms at a value or a room at POR. I am saving hundreds of dollars staying offsite (even including parking fees).
We drive every trip anyway so no extra money there either. No brainer for us if we want to stay on budget. :thumbsup2
