Absolute BEST time to go?

I know this has been asked time and time again, but I'm considring taking my first solo trip - just a quick weekend trip - sometime in the next few months. What is the absolute best time to go, taking into account cost, crowds, climate, events, etc.

I used to think in the fall, right after the kids go back to school, but we went 2 weeks ago and it was BUSY, just like in Febuary or Spring Break! Turns out a Jewish Holiday fell on Monday and many schools had that day off.

My advice is to check the various religious calendars before you decide to go. We will from now on!!!

Looking at the calendar, the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving or Christmas might be OK. Most weekends between now and the end of the year have something going on (FUNAI, Soap, etc.) plus the F&W goes 'til mid-November. Once Thanksgiving is over, Christmas decorations go up and the once-quiet times of early Dec. are now getting pretty busy. If you can wait until the 1st of the year, later in January-early February is also a good time to go.

PS - You'll LOVE traveling solo!!! The trip is all about you and you only - catch your favorite rides or shows as many times as you like, sleep in or head out early, eat when and where you want - the world is yours!!!

The least busy times for me have been any Jan-feb weekend excluding holidays, the weekend after labor day and the weekend before Christmas. After labor day and in to early Oct are my favorites because its still warm. The week before christmas is more crowded but, the decorations are out and its just beautiful

We were there last week and asked a cm about the best time to come. She told us February.
