Where do YOU think the best place to watch wishes is?

DH and I just got back from WDW today, and we watched it DEAD CENTER infront of the castle and really didnt like that view....the castle really isnt all THAT involved in the show and we really just wanna enjoy the music and the fireworks...

any ideas?

thanks, Gina :flower:

Oddly enough, we enjoyed the view from the left side of the castle up in the hub area. We caught Wishes from there twice. We are going to try a little further down Main Street when we go later this year, just to see what a different perspective you get with that view.

The best view of the fireworks for us will always be the one we had in 2003 during MVMCP. We were riding SpMtn as the fireworks began. Gabby was a little upset that we had played around so long that we were going to miss them, but she was trying to not let on to me about it. I had heard in the past from another poster that some of the fireworks are shot off behind BTMRR and that it made for a memorable ride. Since, BTMRR was a walk on and we more or less ran to it from SpMtn. We had the most spectacular ride experience ever as we rode BTMRR with fireworks bursting over our heads. They seemed so close that you could almost touch them. Gabby was amazed at how cool it was too. I doubt that we will ever top that. It was a magical night. Maggie

I didnt know if maybe anyone has watched WISHES from BEHIND the castle....and if that would be any better?? :confused3

We loved the view just at the beginning of the hub, to the right as you go toward the bridge to tomorrowland. But don't go too far toward the bridge, we were still right by the corner of main street. We had a great view of Tink as well as the show/castle. As I watched, I thought if you were any closer to the castle, it wouldn't be as good. I've also heard it's good farther back on main street, but we love this view of tink (and close proximity to Caseys for our waiting snack!). :flower:

3MouseMom, that is where we often go, too. I love to stand right under Tink as she flies overheard. We try to stand right around the bridge so we can get that glance of her.

My family and I choose to sit by Dumbo and Snow White. We always grab a hot chocolate to drink while we wait, during the winter time. They light the fireworks off of Snow White so you get a pretty good view of them. :wizard:

We saw Wishes during Easter and stood right in a little circle in front and to the right of Crystal Palace. It looked (from this view) that the fireworks were to the left of the castle. I thought this was much better than our previous view on the bridge (on the benches) of tomorrowland - trees really blocked all our view that time.

We saw it again in May at the beginning of Main St, near the entrance, and we loved it - you could see the castle, but it was far enough back to see the fireworks well.

How is the view from the train station??

The view from the trainstation was good. A lot of people left that area when I sat there in January because they did not turn off all of the lights on Mainstreet (i.e. not the ones by the train station city hall, etc).

Personally I love the view from the bridge to Tomorrow Land and/or the bridge leading to Cosmic Rays. Wonderful views and you don't have to get there early cos everyone else is crowding Main Street and the hub.

we saw them the 2nd week of june behind the castle and they were great. my dh and ds were riding Dumbo as they started going off and how much more disney does it get than that. they were riding with all of that going on over there heads. my dh said that was the absolute best!!! I was just sitting there enjoying wishes & waiting for them and everyone I talked to right after it was over said that, that was the best place to enjoy them. I know I did!

A couple of weeks ago we watched them from behind the castle. I wouldn't have wanted to see it for the 1st time from that vantage point, but it definitely made for a different experience.

From where we were standing--right by the carousel--if you looked towards the castle, you could see the shooting stars. In order to see the other colored fireworks, you had to turn and face the other direction. We were actually right underneath where a lot of the fireworks exploded. When it was over I had several shards of ash on me, and throughout the time you could feel the bits raining down on you. At one point an ember landed on the ground and a CM--who seemed to be working that area expressly for that reason--ran over and stomped on it.

By the end I got pretty good at listening for the lauch sounds and facing the right direction to see the explosion.

It was pretty cool to actually see the fireworks take off from on top of Philharmagic, and the sound was incredible. It was loud and all around.

If you're able to see Wishes more than once on a trip, I'd try it from right behind the castle once just for the experience.

The night after we viewed it from behind the castle we viewed it from the center of main street about 40 yards from the castle itself. I much prefer that view.

Personally, I think that wishes is the #1 attraction in all of Disney. It is superb. I could watch it every night and still get chills. I'm only sad because the 1st 5 times I visited Disney we never went to the show because I had the attitude "eh, I've seen fireworks before." Wishes is so much more than that.
