So we had plan to go to Disney in Dec 2010 and I just found out I am pregnant. I have no clue how far I am. I am guessing around 3 or 4 weeks. If that is the case I would be due in Nov. Now here is my question, do we still go in Dec and bring the baby who will be at 3 or 4 weeks old or do we try to go sooner while I am pregnant? I have two others kids 3 and 6.

First...CONGRATS!!!!!

Second- I would definitely go while you are pregnant if you can swing it. It will be nice for the two other kids to have a treat before baby comes and takes your attention for awhile. ;) If you plan this whole thing and then either deliver late and/or God (or whoever you believe in) Forbid have any complications and aren't feeling well, it could end up being a nightmare. Personally, I didn't feel human the first month after DD was born....I never would have had the brains to pack up a family of 5 and go on vacation :rotfl:

Thanks for the reply. This was very unexpected but it was not like we were doing anything to prevent it.(so really how unexpected could it be:rotfl:) I am gonna see about going before hand I think.

Congrats!! I don't think I'd take a 3-4 week old. Night feedings every 2 hours don't make for a fun WDW trip :) I'm feeling like I'm pushing it by (god willing) bringing a 3 month old in December. Can you swing going in your early 2nd trimester? That way the sickies will have passed (I'm still waiting!) and you'll be feeling a little better. That or maybe wait until the behbeh is a few months old?

I agree with Tnkr I would go sooner and give them some special time before your baby comes.

Congrats and :welcome:

ITA!

My first two babies were fairly easy deliveries and I felt great after (although my first baby had some digestive issues/allergies that made the first few weeks very trying).

My 3rd baby was 10 days late and an emergency c-section. I have some friends who recovered from c-sections quickly, but sadly, that was not the case for me. I could never have managed to deal with packing and traveling at that point.

P.S. Congrats on your pregnancy! :goodvibes

Well if you can swing it go before, but if you are anything like I was with my last there was no way I was walking anywhere!!LOL

BUT we booked our trip when I was 8mths pregnant, had my section date already and knew when our little one was coming.... at least no later then. We took DS at 2mths old, and he was awesome, it gave me time to recover from the surgery, and yet get on a schedule with him (not like he sticks to it!!LOL).
4 weeks maybe a little young just because if u have and complications, end up in a c-section u are not going to enjoy it nearly as much as you would say a month later.

Good luck with what ever u decide, and enjoy it!

Thanks for all the replies. They are much appreciated. I guess I better see how we can swing before. I normally have very easy pregnancy's so hopefully this will be the same.

I second that. Plus it will be RSV season and you don't want a little one that young to get RSV, trust me I know. He/She will be in the hospital for days and if you try to get a life insurance policy for them after they get RSV it will be hard. Insurances will deny your application when they see that the baby was on breathing treatments while he/she had RSV.

Could you push it back & go the fall after the baby is born??

No way would I take a 3-4 week old but would also hesitate to go pregnant as well. If you really want to go before the baby maybe go VERY soon.

I would wait to go until way after the baby is born but I would hate to disappoint my 6 year old. She knows we are going in Dec and if I say hey mommy is pregnant now we can not go until the baby is older it would not make for a happy child.

As PP have said- I would go before the baby is born. 3-4 weeks is too soon for you to be feeling better, and honestly, you never know how your delivery will go.

My first was a really complicated emerg-c section and I had mojor recovery issues (was in the hospital for 2 weeks). My 2nd was also a c-section but I was in full swing right away. My DD though had an unforseen health issue that needed (minor) surgery right away.

None of those were planned things and I would have been devestated had I had a trip planned 3-4 weeks later and no one was in good shape to go!

Whatever you decide, have fun!
