? about wearing headsets on tours

I just saw a mention of wearing a headset on KTTK tour. Is this headset worn by other guests or do you get a fresh one that no one has ever had on/in their ears before? I know this is probably a silly question but I just want to make sure. Can't stand the thoughts of possibly putting something on/in my ear that has been in someone else's ear even if it has been "sanitized".
Thanks

Having worked in the video production business for years, this question just makes me laugh.
:rotfl:

I coud not count the thousands of times I have worked, locally and around the country, with various companies... using gear like in this pic.

I guess it never occured to me that I was toying with dangerous "headset germs".
I might have to change professions. :goodvibes

while i have not taken that particular tour, i have been on the wild by design one in the animal kingdom, where we also used headsets. the headphones were previously used, and it was questionable whether or not they were sanitized. however, you could probably bring your own headphones to plug in - something my mother said she wished she had done because she had trouble hearing with the type of headphones that were provided.

hope this helps!

the headphones are most likely either sanitized or disposable....Disney is very cautious with germs, allergies, etc......but, if you are really concerned I suggest you call and ask!

I definately don't think they are disposable but hopefully they are sanitized. It never crossed my mind really.

I did this tour in December and LOVED it. I too am a germaphob!! I remember thinking the same thing. They are sanitized. I also ALWAYS carry hand sant. with me at all times and used it on the piece just to be sure.

ENJOY

The head sets aren't really headsets. They are an ear piece that goes around your ear. nothing goes in your ear. I wouldn't worry.

Something that also goes with this question...

"Sounds Dangerous Starring Drew Carey" in MGM is a headphone ATTRACTION.

Thousands of guests attend this show and wear the headsets in the theater.

There are continuous shows and the same headphones are worn show-after-show.

The pre-show for "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" at Disneyland uses the same "binaural" technology... as does one of the audio attractions at DAK over at Rafiki's Planet Watch... all-headphone audio playback systems.

Again, no "sanitization" of the headphones is performed between shows.

In thousands of theaters of all kinds across the country there are "hearing impaired" headsets for folks that need some amplification of events.
Headsets get used over and over.

Pay phones... this country was RIFE with them just a half-generation ago.

So, if you're sensitive about such things... you're just going to have to avoid all of them.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll now make sure to take my sanitizer and wipes.

Sorry Robo! I guess it is good that I'm not in your line of work. There are a lot of people out there that don't wash like they should and I do avoid using things that others have had on their bodies. Just a hang-up I guess, but I see by some of the other posters that I'm not the only one.

Thanks.
