We just added 50 pts onto our membership at SSR. Our use year is Oct. I already have our Family vacation booked for Nov/Dec.2004. Can I borrow the 50 pts. from my use year that starts in Oct 2004. Would love to grab a quick trip down. Thanks in advance.

Not sure about this, but I think you would have to wait until you close to do that. I would call MS and ask, or perhaps an SSR owner here might know.

Part of that depends upon when you want to make that "quick trip". You cannot use DVC points until your unit has been released into the program. If you purchased part of Building #2 of SSR, the Occupancy date is something like June 6, 2004. You could not book a stay before the occupancy date of your unit.

If you have building 2 and want to make a trip from mid-June forward, then you certainly should be able to borrow against your October '04 points.

The other option would be to call DVC and see if they can re-allocate your points so that the October SSR points are going toward your November / December ressie. That should free up some other points at another resort to take a trip earlier than June. Under this scenario you'll have to make sure that you don't have 7/11 month booking window issues. If your November / December stay is NOT at SSR, you will have to wait until you are within the 7 month window in order to request the points be moved around.

All of this is assuming that Member Services actually WILL move your points around as I described. And it's entire possible that the next poster will tell you they will not or cannot do that.
