Yes, you can upgrade your PH ticket to an AP. You can upgrade on the last day of your PH ticket to the AP. You just pay the difference of what you paid for the PH ticket to the AP you want to get. (Premium or Deluxe) You should upgrade your PH ticket after you use your MM day. If you upgrade the ticket and don't and don't use your MM on your PH, you won't get to use the MM.

I see in your sig you're already planning to go again inside the year:

There's no reason your hubby should be against it. Just show him the math of this trip's tickets plus next trip's, and see if it's over or under the cost of the AP. Don't forget to include the discounts you can get. But be careful that you aren't running into any blockout dates that would require you get the Premium, b/c that'll change the math.

(you could always just get the AP for you...let him buy a second set of tickets for himself on the second trip!)
