I have heard that SOMETIMES MS will grant you a one time FIX pertaining to points. Here is my question. Has anyone had MS put back borrowed points?? Is this a long shot???

It never hurts to ask. It's amazing what folks will do for you if you are nice to them and make them feel like they are doing you a favor. :)

Having said that, I'm not sure they even can reverse a borrow. It may be intentionally limited by the software they use. There is a one time forgiveness for forgetting to bank which is what you've probably heard about.

Like I said, it never hurts to ask.

the only time i've ever heard of undoing a borrowing is if you purchase a new add-on - i think they might let you use the newly purchased pts and they will put the borrowed pts back. lisas is more of an expert, i think.

otherwise, i think you are confused with the one-time late banking fix that MS has historically allowed.

As already said, it doesn't hurt to ask. However, the one time exceptions I've heard in the past were when people missed the banking deadline and were allowed to bank late. I've never heard a report of someone being able to reverse a borrowing transaction.

If you have a current reservation, you may be able to get them to change out the points to use the borrowed points and bank an equal number of current year points.

Other than a new retail purchase, a mistake on their part or some situation where all the points must be in a single UY (DCL) I think you're going to be about 100% a no on this option. There are many ways to go without using your own points. You could go cash and look at it as an opportunity to try something else, stay off property, rent from someone else.

I had borrowed points returned when I snagged a 1-BR at BCV for F&W at the 7-month window. Just before the CM asked me to confirm the reservation, I asked if there happens to be a standard 1BR at BWV available. When she said there was, I told her to take that one instead. She'd already done the borrowing for the BCV room, but since she had not officially confirmed the reservation, she was able to get a manager to put the borrowed points back.

We had made a reservation one time and completely forgotten about it until we got the notice saying it was time to check in online! Eeeeek! I called MS and they granted me my one-time fix and I'm sure we used borrowed points b/c we were only 6 weeks out from the end of the UY and there was no way we could've gotten them used.

They granted me my points back for one more year but if I remember right, I couldn't bank them. They had to be used.

It never hurts to ask. In the words of someone I know "they can't hit ya!"

Thanks everyone..I will call later today and see. I am expecting a big no, but like others said...doesn't hurt to ask. :goodvibes

My dad was able to put back borrowed points. He said they let him do it because my brother was in the military (he was supposed to go on the trip but had to back out). This was back in 2011 for a 2012 trip.

I have not called ....may not need to now. We might be able to take the trip. I will post an update if I do call and ask.
