So, say DH and I decide to go out to dinner to a signature restaurant w/o our 2 sons. We put them in the Sandcastle Club while we go. They wouldn't be using their TS credits for that day. The TS credits are doled out as a total number, based on the # of nights you're staying and the # of people in your party, yes? In other words, the TS that they wouldn't use that night aren't theirs alone, we could use them for anyone anytime during our stay. Am I thinking correctly? (By them not using the TS that night, we'll have the extra to use for the signature dinner, is what I'm trying to establish.)

This was the official info from anther thread:

Effective January 1, 2007, Disney created programming for the restaurant cash registers that prevents adults from using (the much less expensive) child credits to pay for adult meals. Any CM who tries to override the programming is subject to various levels of reprimand, up to and including termination).

So no, you can not use you children's TS credits for your Adult Meal.

It depends on the age of the kids. If the kids are Disney Kids (3-9), NO you can't do that. Your keycards will show 2A/2C and the computer system (and restaurant management) will not allow you to use kids credits for adult meals. If it's early in your trip, the charge would probably go through, but the credits would come out of your adult allocation and you and DH would be short credits later in the trip.

If that is your situation, the easy fix is to do a "heavy CS" like the rib or rib/chicken dinner at Cosmic Ray's (1 CS!) and use the saved TS credit for signature dining.

If the kids are Disney Adults (10 and up), YES, you could do that. Your cards will will say 4A, and you can use the credits any way you like because you'll be using adult credits for adult meals.

Darn it. They're 7 & 5, so nope. *sigh* So...if we were to do it anyway, what would be the best way to use the 2 extra TS credits that they'll have? Would you pay OOP for the adults at a TS restaurant on another day? I guess you'd have to. Because the adults would have one less credit each compared to one extra each for the kids. (Am I thinking correctly?)

I would just pay the signiture meal OOP, and you all could eat the other 2 TS togeter.
