I know that Disney recommends a jacket for men to wear into Triton or Palo restaurants on the Wonder. My DH and I are packing today (next Saturday we will be in Disney World, and 1 week later on our cruise!) and it seems a waste for him to bring a jacket, dress shoes and socks for one night (we aren't planning on eating at Palo rest).

How many people follow this guideline? We dress well everyday, and like to dress for dinner as we greatly respect dress codes, but with the baby, we are trying to consolidate our packing. My DH normally wears Haggar pants with nice tropical shirts to dinner with leather sandals - would he feel out of place?

Any help or observations that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

He won't feel out of place at all. Nice dress shirt is fine with pants and shoes. I didn't. Don't worry have fun.......

I'd say at most 50% of the men will be in a jacket. If you're dressed in clean, pressed dress slacks with a semi-nice shirt, you'll feel relatively comfortable. I'd say that 20-30% of the men wear a dress shirt and tie w/ no jacket, 10-20% wear a nice polo shirt and dress slacks, and the rest might be in jeans or shorts with a t-shirt. It's not what the guidelines say, but people do it, partcularly on the shorter cruises.

We ate at Triton's the first night of our cruise, and I'd say less than 25% of the men wore a jacket. I was told by a CM that no one dresses up the first night, and the other nights are mainly "casual dressy" on the 3 and 4 night cruises.

1. So, leather sandals will be ok as well?

2. Instead of a loose fitting tropical shirt because it's more casual, should he wear a golf shirt instead?

Thanks, Tiger aka Piglet's Momma

I thought that DCL changed their dress policy in regards to Tritons/Lumiers. They no longer require jackets except on formal/semi-formal night. Please correct me if I am wrong as I'd like to know for our cruise in July.

Jackets are "recommended" not required..we just got back from 4/4 Wonder cruise..I wore some dark blue slacks and a dress shirt and felt fine..I would say maybe 40% had suit and tie..if that...dress to be comfortable..they will feed you no matter what...:hyper:

magic cruiser: They changed the dress code/recommendations on the Magic 7 night, not on the Wonder.

If you aren't planning on eating at Palo...don't waste luggage space with a jacket.

Enjoy!
