Ok folks... missed it the last time we were there. Don't want to miss it this time. Where do we go to get on the safari bus, I know there is someone on the board that drives one of those things. Also, what is the best time to go?
thanks

If you mean where do you enter the que to ride the Safari in DAK...
Its all the way in the back of the park (on the left) thru Harambe Village.
The Safari vehicle is not so much a "bus" but more of an open "truck" (kind of like an oversized Jeep).

If you mean you're looking for a bus to take you to the Safari... unless you're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (and getting the early "private tour"), I don't know about anything like that.

Yes! Thanks...this is exactly what I needed to know. We took the train that is in the back of the park last time, completely missed the safari!
My kids and DH are still letting me know about it!

Thanks again!

Only thing I know about is that it is at the back of the park and we hot foot it over there first thing and ride it as many times as they will let us until it gets crowded

Go as early as possible; more animals.

When we went, there was a little preshow at opening starring Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy (as well as a surprise "safari guide" with large round ears :earsboy: )

After the preshow, the truck carrying M, P, and G led us back to Africa -- no stampede (pun intended) :) You have to walk quickly to keep up, and keep the kids from stopping to see characters on the way(#1 daughter hasn't forgiven me because we didn't find Stitch again later), but there will be almost no wait when you get there.

If I remember my geography correctly, you passed the entrance to the que on your way to the train if you went through Harambe Village.

If you go early in the AM, there aren't really more animals, they are just more active because they have just been released from their barns onto their savannahs and are "stretching their legs" so to say.

Thanks...we are used to running to the back of the park!! LOL :rotfl:
Just not at AK!

Can't wait to get there. Does anyone know when the first safari is?
I know if you stay at AKL you get a "special", early safari, but what about us poor folks?

Lisa :paw:

The first safari is usually at about 9:06 (8:06 on EMH mornings) when the crowd of people following the Adventure Begins truck make it back to Harambe.

i agree about the early morning..we went first thing twice and late afternoon once and the morning was much better. we didn't even see the baby elephant or lions in the pm. however they will just drive on by and not mention it so if you haven't seen it, you won't really know you missed it ;)

the entrance is kind of nondiscript( just a bunch of wooden looking fence ) but it's over to the far left toward the back of africa( past some shops and stuff). we also almost walked right past it.

Well, yeah . . . I meant "you will see more animals", not "some fiend will have stolen all of the animals if you go later." :teeth: Sorry for any confusion caused by my somewhat telegraphic style.

And again, if you go at opening, you won't miss it -- just go where everybody else is going :cool1:
