? about the Pirate Cruise

We will be in the world the first week of October. My DS will turn 10 during this trip. The other DS5 wants to go on the Pirate Cruise. Will DS10 be too old? I know 10 is the oldest allowed but will he feel "too old". He actually turns 10 the day before the Thursday cruise. Any info will be appreciated.

my son did it last month-- he loved it- he turned 9 this past february- if that helps!

My daughter did it just recently with my 7yr old son... and she had a blast. There was another girl there with a younger sister and she looked to ATLEAST be 12yrs old- so apparently they aren't strict on the age thing? There's no way this girl could have been 10 or even almost 11... atleast 12 or older. She also apparently had a great time.

The rest were all younger children but I'd say the majority were in the 7-8yr old age range with a few younger ones.

(ps. they won't allow you to bring any pirate stuff- so don't bother doing what I did and buying a pirate "pkg" at DTD because they wouldn't let my son bring that stuff on the pirate cruise and he was mighty upset about it.

I just booked this for my DS4 and DD9. How many CM's are with the kids?? I am not concerned with my DD, but I am a bit worried about my 4 year old. How many kids are on the boat?? I know I am being a worry wart..but heck, it comes with the territory. Also, the lunch is it uncrustables??

I haven't done the cruise but uncrustables are round peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They look like a small flying saucer. I think they are made by Smuckers and we have had them in other parts of WDW too. Good luck.

I think there are about 20-25 kids on the cruise, with three CMs with them. I heard that they did leave one on a beach somewhere because she was being too bossy, but I couldn't get any more details on that.

Anyway, to the OP, I think a 10-year-old should be fine on the cruise. There was a good mix of kids on my dd's cruise in May. Most were 7-8 years of age, but there were a few around 5 and 6 and a few more around 9 and 10. And ALL had a blast, from what I could tell.

I think the cost was about $28.00 to $30.00. My 6, 8, and 10 year old boy's all went on it this past June and they all had a blast! They all want to do it again but by then I think our oldest will be to old.

It's done out of the Grand Floridian. You can call the CRO to make reservations. My DD who is 6 just did this on our trip last week and she had a great time. They get the cutest pirate bandana with mouse ears (they sell these in the Pirates of the Carribean store I noticed) and a gold bag full of loot - all sorts of fun little stuff - rubber lizards, a small treasure chest, gold coins, necklaces, rings, rubber eyeballs, etc.

DS10 did this last summer when he was just under 10. He had a good time, even though many of the kids were younger, because they made him a 'helper' and he got a huge kick out of that. They also made his buddy the youngest kid in the group, who was also an only child, and this seemed to work out well.

When I called yesterday to book DS's Pirate Cruise for September, the CM told me there is another "Pirate type" cruise that leaves from the YC/BC area on Wed. only.
