I'm trying to decide what to pack for semi-formal & formal night. My concern is how hot or cold it will be in the restaurants. I am going on the 8/28 Western & don't want to overpack. Will I be cool in short sleeves, and/or hot in long sleeves? TIA for any input...I had no idea this would be such a dilemma. Kathy :wave2:

The restaurants were just right for me...it was never hot and certainly not cold...I think short sleeves would be fine. BUT....every person is different..some people say how cold the theater is and I was never cold on either cruise in there.

I went september 2003 and had no trouble in any of them. The only time I was pretty cold was on deck after sun went down. Light jacket was perfect

We sometimes found the resturants to be a little chilly, our DD's made it a habit of bringing their light coats after the first night.

Thanks for your fast replies. I hadn't really been planning on taking any light jackets, but I think it is better to have them & not use them, than to be cold. Again, thanks. Kathy :wave2:

I found that it varies. Our first cruise was May 2002, and I thought it was extremely cold in the WDW theater (probably hovered around 68-70). In fact, I tracked down a housekeeping cart to grab a bunch of towels to wrap around me and the kids because we were freezing! The dining rooms were a bit better, but there was still a cool breeze, particularly if I was wearing a sundress (probably 70-72 in there). I had taken pretty white sweaters for my DD and I, and we used them at dinner almost every night. DS and DH were fine, but they didn't have bare shoulders.

Our next cruise was Jan 03, and the overall temps were much warmer (I'd say most places were 75 or so). Now on that cruise, the outside temperature probably hovered around the mid-70s during the day, so that may have had something to do with it. First cruise was more typical tropical weather, high 80s during the day.

If it were me, I'd just bring a dressy sweater for the ladies, and maybe a light jacket for a boy child (men usually don't have bare arms inside).

On the formal and semi-formal we found it to be very warm in the lobby. We were fine in the theatre and restruants the whole week. Outside on deck...it was very humid and very warm ::yes:: , which we love. We have cruised the 3 day in November and the temps were jsut right...in the 80 and we slept with the door open at night to hear the waves...In late august and early september......its very warm. :sunny: I have seen people with sweaters on during the shows and during dinner...It just depends on what you prefer. :)

Have a nice cruise

I tend to feel the cold, so I always bring a light sweater with me to dinner. Also the Buena Vista theater was so cold one night I went back to our room and got the extra blanket they have in the closet to keep warm.

Just returned from the July 24-eastern. I tend to be the one who is always chilly and took a light sweater "just in case". Did not need it anywhere or anytime. The dining rooms were just right to warm. Theater were warm when packed for shows or bingo. The cabin was hot unless we kept the drapes pulled during the day - we had a veranda and found that keeping the drapes drawn while not in the cabin made a huge difference in the temp.

Have fun!

Thanks all! I'll pack a spring jacket just in case. I have an outfit that I just bought for formal nite & it is long sleeved, so I'm hoping it won't be too warm. I find movie theaters are always cold in the summer, so I'll just make sure to have my jacket when/if we go there. You can never be too prepared. Kathy :wave2:

This is our 3rd trip to WDW, but our lst cruise. We'll be there in time for Halloween. What's the weather like then? :confused3
What kind of clothes should I take? We're doing 3land/4sea.
Any advice would be appreciated.:worship: Thanks.

I would say to definitely bring a light sweater or a shawl. I was quite cold some of the time. Better to have something handy.
