I think I remember Space Mountain being a 1 person per seat ride--but on thw WDW web site if you play the 5 sec. blurb of SM the cars have 2 people side by side---Which is it 1 per seat or 2 per seat?? My DD5 is tall enough, but I would feel better if I was sitting beside her instead of behind her!!! TIA :earsgirl:

It's one person to a seat. The video is probably from Disneyland where I believe you sit side by side.

Tell your daughter that there are no drops on Space Mountain, just lots and lots of turns and she may be alright. If you sit in a car close to the front, you can see the track which was awful for us older coaster fans, but might be great for your daughter.

1 person to a seat, but you can sit right behind or if front of her in the same car. She will sit down inside the car pretty deep, and you will be right there.

Yeap 1 person seat! My DD 8 loves Space Mountain! I am sure yours will too.

you feel really safe in this ride as you sit far down in the car and have a bar come over you. Its good fun!

If you want to be able to touch your child for extra reassurance, have her sit in the seat in front of you. You will be able to lean forward & touch her arm if that helps you guys feel more comfortable.

As stated above, DL is the SM with side by side seating. WDW has single seats.

This also depends how tall you are. I am5'3" and could barely touch my DD6 shoulder in front of me. Also, you will not be able to hear your child. I kept asking "are you OK?" but I could not hear her response.

BTW: she LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! So I was the neurotic, worrying parent for no reason. This was the 1st big coaster she did. Needless to say, we did it 2 more times or next day at MK and she tells everyone it is her favorite ride.

Just make sure your child knows exactly what it is and that it is dark and if they still want to go, go for it! :cheer2:

There are drops. Be sure she isn't in the 3rd seat of the car. It is a little larger. I'm 4'11'' and I was all over the seat. Never had a problem in either of the 1st 2 seats.

It's a fun ride. Take her on Transit authority 1st and let her see it from the inside. You can see the track and the cars much better if you close your eye prior to entering the Space Mt portion of the TA ride. She be able to see the dips and turns if she looks closely.
