? about Southwest's schedule

I have used Southwest for a number of years being as I live in Houston, but need some help from more experienced traveler/planners.

Approximately when does SWA open up their schedule for travel the first week of June?

Right now the schedule is only open thru April 4th, and has been since sometime in October. SWA customer service and reservations agents claim ignorance until the day they are released. Anybody remember approximately when?

We're travelling 5/31 thru 6/7 and am eager to book my airfare. The main competition in my market is Continental and they ALWAYS lower their fares just before SWA opens dates. Most airlines in fact only have specials that are valid thru/until SWA schedule is open.

Please help.

I am trying to book airfare for over Easter and right now I can get a cheap seat on Spirit out of DTW, but the time isn't all that great. NWA's fares are in the stratosphere and I think they will come down once SWA posts.

I check the site every day, just in case they have updated. My feeling is that they won't do it until after the holidays.

I'm waiting to book an Easter flight for my son. They usually only have room for 6 months on their website but only have five listed now, so I'm hoping the latter part of April will be posted within the next month. About 3 years ago, they had the first part of our trip dates posted but not the last so I only made the first leg reservation and added the return when it was posted.
I too noted that the other airlines tend to lower their rates when SWA posts theirs. I've also seem to remember that either Travelocity or Expedia (I can't remember which) will show their fares about a week before they come out. You can't book them when you try but it's a good clue to keep looking.
