? about Southwest Air......

I got an email from them today that allows for travel up to December 10th. We go to WDW on December 8th and come back on the 15th. The price is "about" $160 RT. It won't let us book it, I guess, since our return date is after the 10th..... Should that open up to let us book it at that rate in 5 days?

Nope. SW opens their dates in blocks of a few months at a time. The next dates won't be released for a few months, since they just opened travel through Dec 10th.

You can book just the flight down and then book the return flight when they release the next block of dates.

you never know with Southwest. What you can do is book 1 way now and then book your return trip when the dates are released.

no, they do not release dates like most other airlines. SW only just released the dates until 12/10 last week, so it will be a while before they release any more. My guess is about 6 more weeks or so. You never know with SW.

What I would do is go ahead and book your flight for the 8th as a one way, then when the next set of dates are released, book the return flight home.

The benefit of doing one ways is (1) you can book your flight on the 8th now, and (2) if the prices goes down for say only one leg of your trip, you can cancel just the one leg and rebook at the cheaper price. SW is great for cancelling and rebooking. They do not charge any cancellation fees...you will get the price difference as a credit for a future flight.

I usually book SW flights one way. This works better if you get a cheaper fare later on and want to re-book. You only have to cancel the flight you need then.

I got a ding fare the other day for $59 from Chicago, It was only to Sept 30th. I booked our flight there Sept 27th and will book my trip home when a good fare comes out later.
