Our boys have been to WDW around 5 times and we try to make it a new experience every trip. We have done the pennies, sigi books, pictures, kidcot and key chains on past trips.

My boys are 9 and 11 years old, we hate to interrupt our touring plans to hurry up to get to a particular rest. in time for our PS. So...We decided to enjoy this trip without PS. I know - we are  and will probably end up eating burgers for 9 days! :goodvibes

Here's our plan. Instead of a sit down meal with PS while at EPCOT, we want to try to sample "something" from each country in the World Showcase :mickeybar as we tour the park that day. It can be food, deserts or drinks ( non- alcoholic ) that we wouldn't be able to find at home. Nothing too expensive as we are planning to make sure that we get something from each country.

Please give me an idea of unusual foods that you like to snack on and how much it costs per person or if we can share the sample.

TIA for helping us to creat a new magical memory ! :earboy2:

We "ate" our way around the world for lunch/dinner on one of our past trips. Some of the things we have done include margaritas in Mexico (of course not for the kids ;) ), lefse bread from the Norway bakery, turkey leg in America, pretzel in Germany, fish/chips in England, beavertails in Canada (I hear they are gone now :( ), pastry from the French bakery, egg roll in China, etc.. We didn't plan in advance what to get we just would get to a country and whatever looked good we ate. :teeth:

You guys are geting me all excited taking about how fun it will be. :Pinkbounc EPCOT is one of my less favorite parks- probably because I've been pushing a stroller for years, dragging tired preschoolers and tired 1st and 3rd graders on past trips- the boys were there last time at ages 8 and 6 - tough years to travel with.

I'm SURE that they, who are a great bit older this trip than the last time we visited EPCOT ( 9 and 11 ) will behave better this trip because they are easily swayed ( seldom needed but well used ) by threats- just tell them no swimming and WOW what a difference in their behavior! :rotfl: I'm hoping to make it my favorite park this trip - I have yet to get to just take it all in without having to entertain small kids like in the past. :wizard: This is going to be a great trip! :cheer2:

If you decide you DO want to sit down in Epcot, you might try a walk-in to Marrakesh for lunch. If they're past whining about being tired, they might just be old enough to enjoy the belly dancer :hyper:

ERINCH- OMG--I didn't think about that-"they might just be old enough to enjoy the belly dancer" :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I'm going to keep that a secret- oh yeah! They are not quite old enough to "enjoy" the belly dancer BUT THEY WILL DIE of embarrassment ;)

Oh boy- I love having a surprise or two up my sleeve :smooth: :rolleyes1

We've never eaten there- how does it work- do we tip the dancer ( totally clueless here ) when she comes to the table or do we just stare and enjoy the entertainment?

My favorite grab and eat is the Fish & Chips in England. We then walk into England and sit on the benches by the garden. There is a Beatles tribute band that plays there and there are usually characters in the back of the shops.

Thanks again to all those people who made a list for us and for all the other info- I have printed this thread off and put it in our vacation planner folder to refer to when we finally get to Epcot.

I thought my DH was going to crack a rib laughing about the belly dancer  .

Sounds fun. During our trips to Epcot we often get the following....pretzels in Germany, fish and chips in England, Kaki Gori in Japan (soooo goood), nachos and margaritas in Mexico, theres so much more but I cant think of it.
Definitely get Kaki Goris in Japan-DH and I never leave Epcot without having one!! :cheer2:

Here's what I'd do:

Mexico - Plato del Nino (beef burrito, tortilla chips and drink) at Cantina de San Angel - costs around $3.50

Norway - Kringle (pretzels with almonds) at Kringla Bakeri - costs around $3

China - Ginger Ice Cream at Lotus Blossom Cafe - costs around $2.25

Germany - Bratwurst with Kraut at Sommerfest - costs around $6

Italy - Cappucino at cart - costs around $3

America - apple cobbler at Liberty Inn - costs around $2.50

Japan - Kaki Gori (shaved ice) at cart - costs around $2.25

Morocco - Baklava at Tangierine Cafe - costs around $3 (I think)

France - Ham and Cheese Quiche at Boulangerie Patisserie - costs around $5

United Kingdom - Fish & Chips at the Fish Shop - costs around $6.50

Canada - Pretzel Breadsticks at Trapper Bob's - costs around $4

Ok... now I'm really hungry!!!

Sounds good! :cool1:

But I'd replace the quiche with some various pastry at the patisserie in France. They change the selection every once in a while and it's all good. The quiche is good too but not as special, if you know what I mean.

RE: the belly dancer--
at least when we were there for dinner she was on a stage.
Invited little girls to join her up there--my DD was devastated because we were up on the upper tier and she wasn't invited. Not a deal where she's right at the table and you can slip a fiver in her , umm , you knows. :smooth:
