I just bought a great CD/Cassette Theme park sing along.
Has the words to Small World, Pirates, Haunted House, Splash Mtn and many others.

I've scanned the book page by page, but the files each are too large. If I reduce it you can't read the words.
How do I post either directly or ftp to my web-site so it's not a 7 meg file.
I'd love to share but not at 7 meg a pop. Can I post the sound also?

I have Adobe reader but can't save as pdf file.

HELP

PS My web hosting service would freak if I uploaded all these files!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure how much space I have but know I would go way over, not to mention the load time.

Posting it or transferring it via ftp will not do anything to change the size of the file. You would first have to find some way to reduce the file size by other means.

Probably if you scanned them they are either in a .bmp or .tif format. It would be best to try to get them into a .jpg format. These files would be much smaller. Any of these procedures will require some sort of image editing software.

Did your scanner come with any kind of letter recognition software? Your scan is an image file of some type. If you can convert it to straight text you'll be down to practically no size at all.

I haven't done anything like that in a few years, but I think it's generally called character recognition software, or something like that. I know if it came with my $50 scanner, it may be fairly standard software.
You would have to proofread it when it's done and fix any errors, but it might work for you.
