? about requesting certain rooms/areas of POR :)

Hi!

We are taking our first family trip to WDW and we'll be staying at POR the first week of July - there's 5 of us (DH, myself, DD 11, DS 6, DS 2). Are there any tips/tricks/special info I should know, re: requesting a certain room or area that is more favorable than others? TIA

with your group you could stay at AB or MB - since your youngest child is under 3 -

I think I might go for the Mansion - Magnolia Terr - however building 14 (AB) is much closer

Put in your request when you book, it will remain on the computer with your ressie. I personally always go for AB section over the Mansions. My kids like the rustic look. My sister in law hated the rustic & goes for the Mansions. The plus to the AB section is that they are the section to be picked up first by the bus. If the resort is crowded, at least you have first dibbs on a seat (not to mention that at times you share a bus with PO-FQ & they are picked up before PO-R!) Also depending on the bldg you end up in, most of AB is closer to the food court than the Mansions are.

We have stayed in both areas. Loved them both. Does your youngest use a portacrib? If so, that leaves the trundle bed open for the next youngest. Or each adult could take a child and then one child on the trundle. That would be the case in AB. Otherwise if you are in Magnolia Bend, the youngest will have to be in a portacrib, and then the two beds will have two in each. It all depends on your particular taste. AB is more rustic and the buildings are only two levels. MB the bldgs. are more formal, cherry type wood, and brocade fabrics. Three level bldgs. but they do have elevators in each bldg.
AB bldg 14 is a great choice. Close to the main bldg. and food court and bus stop. Short walk to the main pool area.

You can put in a request for a particular section or bldg. when you book. But, remember, they are just that..requests. Now, having said that, I have gotten exactly the bldg I requested each time. You are going to love this resort. Have fun!!

we just came back from por and stayed in building 27 room 2740.great.close to everything.the main pool, and we even had a quiet pool right next to us.the main building and food court was very close.the room was a newly remodeled room so it was very nice and big for our family of 5.my girls took turns sleeping on the trundle.i faxed the resort 3 days before we left with room request and i don't know if it was just luck or the fax helped but we got everything we requested.new room, close to main building,top floor,and corner room.the main pool was great.i think my girls liked the pool better then the parks.we were there superbowl week and i have never seen the parks so crowded before.and we normally go in the summer.
