Being that there are 8 of us, what are the chances that we would be granted a request for top row-center on Soarin'? Is there room for us to stand aside and wait for the next group to go in?

We could tell the CM that there are 4 in one group and 4 in the other, but that's still adds up to 8 and would take up the same amount of space while waiting for the next flight.

I've only been on Soarin twice...the 1st time at DCA in 2001 (top row-center) and once at WDW (feet dangling above me). The 1st time was magical.

There are 4 in our group who have never flown on Soarin' and I would really like them to have a great experience.

When they assign you to a row, if it is not where you want to sit, of course you can ask to wait for front row center. I see people do it all the time. You just have to wait for the next "flight" which unfortunately takes about ten minutes. You stand to the side, but down from the actual line. And all eight of you will fit in row one, I believe there are 10 or 12 seats in the center section. Enjoy your trip!:)

It seems to depend on the cm. But generally, I have been able to request a certain area when I have wanted it. They have just had my party stand off to the side, away from the crowd once you get down to the last waiting spot (where they divide you into the three rows). Not sure about a party of 8, just ask nice (I know you will) and they'll probably accomodate you.

I do agree that sitting in that top row center is the best, but I think even off to the side in that row is excellent. I hope you get it for the first timers although it does spoil you! And being that you are so many, just have the first timers move to the spots towards the middle, with 8 you almost have a full row anyway.

Good luck!

There are 11 seats in each row of the center section of the WDW version, but I haven't ridden the CA version. We asked to wait for this row last week at WDW and the CM was fine with letting us wait for that row, but as Amy&Dan said, it will be up to the CM on duty when you go. I hope you get to do it, though... it's a really cool experience!

We were only a party of 2, but as we were about to be placed on the bottom row, I mentioned to the CM that DD (8) really wanted to sit in the front (she really did!). The CM accomodated us very nicely, and I thanked him. But as others have said, it really is up to the CM.

On my last trip in August, we rode Soarin 3 times. 2 times we requested the top middle and were accommodated. One time a very funny CM (Erik) told us to sing and dance for the top middle. We did! :lmao: The third time we rode, we rode just before park closing and we wanted the top middle again, but they told us that after a certain time, they don't accept seat requests. We were stuck with bottom left. :sad2:

Its also the season time...

CMs are more accomdating when its slower... just look at the parking lots... people can park anywhere they want on off season but are forced to park next to each other to add more space...
