? about renting car at WDW???

I could use a little guidance from someone(s), as I've never done it this way before: We are needing to rent a car to get out of WDW. Usually, we have gone to DTD area hotels and renting from there. At the Disney Car Care Center, what car rental companies are there?...do they pick you up at your resort?...and how do I go about checking a rate? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, as we've never used the Disney Car Care Center before and are clueless as to what they offer. TIA

The on-site car rental company is Alamo. If you call the car care center, they will send an Alamo shuttle bus to pick you up at your resort and transport you to the rental building which is near Magic Kingdom, if you look to the left after going through where people pay for parking you can see the building and the Hess gas station. You can check rates on the alamo website, the code for WDW location is ORLR72.

Our experience with the Car Care Center was that they picked us up at our hotel (The Contemporary). The agencies are Alamo and (I think, unless it's been phased out), National. You may want to check their rates on-line for prices. Alamo rents chiefly GM cars.

I just reserved a car from Budget which is at The Grosvenor. They do have pick up service - you just need to call 24 hours in advance to reserve someone to pick you up. I saved over $200 doing this instead of renting at MCO. I haven't even gotten a code for it, so I expect the rate to go down when the '07 codes come out.

I got reservations for a car from Alamo at The Dolphin. We will be at Epcot that day so I will leave the DW and go pick up the car. Between the advanced payment discount and a code I got from Costco, it was really reasonable for a partial trip rental.

Thanks for all your advice....alas, Alamo @ WDW is still about $60 more than the Budget at DoubleTree. We decided to go with that again....just thought I'd check into it to see what was available....oh well, back w/ Budget. Thanks again everyone!

Ya know.......if you book Budget at the DoubleTree thru rentalcarmomma instead of the Budget site, it's a little cheaper
