? about RCI & Sheraton Visitana

We might be renting at the Sheraton Vistana Fountains II . It's a 2 bdr. that sleeps 8. Is this a nice place ? How can I get more info on it. And how close is it to Disney.

Well we timed it it was 4 minutes to the gate of Disney...on a bad day..6 minutes. Once you are in the gates then it has nothing to do with the resort b/c the playing field is all equal.

As to the Fountains... I have only stayed in the Falls and the Cascades and truly they are both very nice. Cascades is very new and Falls is about 10 years old but all renovated. I can assure you that the Fountains or Fountains II (which is newer than I) is very nice and all the sections are being constantly renovated. The rooms are huge with plenty of room, full size kitchens and baths. They may not be as glitzy as the Lakes and Cascades but having stayed at the new Cascades this time I can tell you I prefer the spaciousness of the older units. ONe thing you will notice is that they are ALWAYS doing maintainence be it ground work, street cleaning, trash pick up....this places is VERY well maintained in all aspects. YOu will like it.

Working this weekend so haven't been on the DIS too much.
I own in the Fountains area and just stayed in a Fountains II unit last week. The Fountains II, Lakes and Cascades have the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom vs the master bathroom with all the older sections. Also, there is a safe in the master bedroom closet if you need one.
Bella gave you a good reply. Epcot and MGM Studios are probably the closest parks.....MK a little further...and AK the furthest. I think 15 min is probably the longest it will take you to get to the gate. Of course, with the MK I am referring to the parking lot at the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there, you must board a tram, then take the monorail or ferry into the MK park. That can take an additional 20-30 min from the time you reach the TTC parking lot.
I do have pics of the Fountains II villa I just stayed in. I won't be able to upload my pics until tommorrow though because I have to work (coming back from vacation is such a bummer ). But if you can hang on until then, I'll post them here.
Also, keep in mind when staying in the Fountains II area----request "water view". There is a small section of bldgs in this section that back up to a small grassy area and a fence. Not a desirable view. The villas that do NOT have a water view & back up to a fence are : 1601-1612 (Fri arrival); 1631-1642 (Sat arrival); 1655-1672 (Sat arrival). Sunday arrival has no chance of getting these villas.
