I made ADR's for Rose and Crown for our last night at WDW at 7:20, so that we could take advantage of a viewing area for Illuminations (a couple of my 5 children are afraid of fireworks). However, the next night is my mom's birthday, and she loves french food (and France). My dad, is happier with fish and chips. I just got the idea to have me, my mom, and one of my dd's (who LOVE all food), to go to Le bistro, and have my DH (beer lover), my dad (Mr. fish and chips), and my other 4 kids (we love fish sticks and chicken fingers) keep the ADR at R & C, and we could meet up with them there. Will this work?

No, I don't think it will. The tables are close together at R&C and there really won't be room for 3 more to come in at Illuminations if I understand you correctly.

But you should also know that if seated inside R&C, there isn't a full view of Illuminations or anything close to it. If seated outside, your children who are noise sensitive will hear the full effects. We did have a table in May that gave a nice framed view of the Globe through the window. But we really couldn't see anything else.

I think it's probably better to plan on eating all together or doing separate reservations and just enjoying Illuminations apart.

BYW since you posted this on the DDP forum, I just wanted to make sure that you knew that Le Bistro is not included on the DDP.

It is important to mention, also, that R&C no longer allows guests to wait for an outside table; it's take what your first offered or leave. (This policy is likely due to problems they've had with this in the past.) Only 1/3 of the tables have a view of Illuminations. I'd recommend R&C only if you've seen Illluminations so many times, that you're willing to live with a 33% chance of seeing it while sitting down.

Yes, I am aware that Le Bistro doesn't take DDP - we're on it, and I'm just used to this forum in regards to restaurants. For R & C, we actually want an inside table, so that the children who are afraid of fireworks can sit inside, and the others can use the R & C patio. What I was wondering was would the 3 members of the party not dining at R & C be allowed to join their family on the patio. It's our last night at WDW.
