We have a trip planned for May but because of school being extended (DD is very upset at the thought of missing any school) and deciding we could make better use of the money right now we are thinking about planning a trip for May of next year. But I have a couple questions. We where booked on the 4 night 3 night free deal but I was wondering is it very likely they will have any kind of deal come next year? We have not went to Disney in years so I wasn't familiar with how often they have "deals" going on. Also how far in advance can you book a Disney vacation. I'm very dissapointed at the thought of not going this year but I know deep down inside it's the right thing to do.

Hi,

In all the years I have been a Disney fan the buy 4, get 3 package is the most lucrative one I have seen. It is a reaction to the state of the economy and so if the economy takes a turn for the better (which we all hope it will!) I would not expect to see the by 4, get 3 again in the foreseeable future.

There are other deals from time to time though, such as the free dining package which usually is announced in late March/early April and is good for bookings from mid-late August through September.

Sorry you won't be able to make it this year, but here's hoping we see you at WDW in 2010!

I understand your disappointment about postponing the trip. I have had to postpone and even cancel a trip in the past. However, when you feel deep down inside it is the best thing to do, then when you do postpone it or cancel it, you feel a big weight lift off your shoulders. So, I can relate.

Others who go more often will be able to give you a better idea than me about possible deals and when to book. I suggest that you check out mousesavers.com to get a sense of past deals. With the economy the way it is right now, I would guess there will be other deals next year that you will be able to use when you book your next trip.

I think you can book your trip one year in advance. My understanding is that you can book a year in advance under the current rates. However, the price is not confirmed until the new prices for that particular year are posted.

Just think, you can have that much more time to plan. Just check out the pre-trip reports and codes and rates boards and you will see that you are not the only one on these boards planning that far ahead.
