We just had to change all our hotels plans because dd decide she didnt want to miss thatmuch of school. I never even heard of it. Is it kid friendly? Are the room big? Thanks for any input

The rooms are bigger than the All-Stars. Not huge, but not bad.
Yes it is fairly kid friendly. Our boys enjoyed staying there-cool pools. Arcade is geared toward older kids, though. But a nice place to stay. I dont think you will be disappointed.

POR is very kid friendly. I don't know how much you know, so I will ramble on for a while. If you have questions, I would be happy to answer them.

The theme is Old South. 2 sections of rooms:
Alligator Bayou: sleeps 5, has trundle bed. Rustic looking design.
closest to food court are buildings: 14, 18 and 27

the Mansions: Parterre Place, Oak Manor are closest to food court.
We stayed at Acadian House and did not find the walk to be long.

But everything is just a short pleasant walk. The landscaping is beautiful there.

The main pool is Old Man Island with sprinklers, water slide. Really fun for kids. there are several quiet pools closer to the actual buildings with laundry rooms and restrooms.

You can pick up free life jackets for kids at marina. Pool towels are at the main pool but not at the quiet pools.

Food court has many choices: pizza, burgers, pasta, taco salads, bakery, ice cream and has stations for refillable mugs.

Sit down Restaurant is Boatwrights which we really enjoyed especially for breakfast.

You can rent bikes, surrey bikes, water boats right at the marina.

There is a relaxing free boat ride to DTD.

There is an awesome piano player in the lounge Wed-Sat 7 PM named Bob JAckson. My kids loved him. He has kids get up and participate. (adults too)
