How long would it take me to walk from POFQ over to riverside to partake of their food court (this is allowed isnt it?) Is it worth it? their food court just looks so much nicer! Does anyone ever do this?
It is about 15 minutes and is a very pretty, relaxing walk along the way. If you do not want to walk you can pick up the DTD boat and hop on for the rest of the way as well!
We made it on Friday night last week in 10 minutes and that's carrying a 4 year old and 2 bags full of toys1 We left as the boat was pulling into riverside (was too full) and we arrived at the FQ as the boat was pulling in~ We actually beat the boat back!
Its a lovely, and very easy walk. Even with arthritis I can make it easily in 10-15 minutes.
The POFQ food court actually has some pretty good selections (I love the chicken wrap sandwiches, and Mickey waffles and beignets are awsome), and at the POR food court, the make your own pasta bar was well worth the walk up the river.

Like others have said, 10 to 15 minutes tops.
Yes, it is allowed. You can even use the quiet pools over at POR when you stay at POFQ (heck you can use any of the pools at either resort) -- we like the quiet pools at POR when we want to sit around and read the paper.
We often use both food courts when we stay at Port Orleans.
Favorites at POR - make your own salad, make your own omlet (I think that's an option there)
Favorites at POFQ - chicken wraps, chicken caesar salad, veggie sandwich, veggie chili, greens & rice
The evening entertainment is good at both resorts also.
