If I pay my trip off with Disney gc can I call and pay it off or do I have to do it on line? Thinking about taking advantage of the discount with using my Target red card instead of the points I would get with my Disney Visa. Thanks!

You can definitely call in. When I called for someone there was an automated system to take the payments so I did not have to talk to a person.

I've done this twice and just recently paid off my upcoming
August trip with GC's purchased at Target. For some reason, I wasn't able to pay my trip online so I just called and actually spoke to an agent. I used 88 gift cards in total so I ended up making 2 calls and giving each agent 44 cards at a time, was easy and took about 40 min each call. And to answer your last call, yes, you have to scratch off the back of each card and give them the entire gift card number.

Oh wow, lol, that is a lot of gc's. Is the highest amount they come in $50.00 at Target?

Someone posted several weeks back that they paid off a trip with gift cards and then had to cancel; they were not able to reschedule it at that point.

The CM asked for the gift card numbers in order to credit it back to the cards. She did not save them because she used all of her gift cards up to pay off the trip. It took the CM several tries to be able to finally determine the card numbers and load them back on the card, but she was able to finally do it.

So if you do pay off the trip, hold onto the cards just in case you do have to cancel and you will save yourself a lot of angst and time on the phone.

Planning on paying off mine today with gift cards bought at target!

Yes, it was, BUT totally worth it as I saved over $400 on my trip, using the Red Card and my pharmacy rewards discount :). As for the highest denomination, $50 is the highest at all the Targets in my area. Also, as another pp mentioned, make sure to save all the GC's just in case. I have all of mine bundled together and in a drawer.

i dont have a "local" target, so dont know of this special you speak off..

But we are going to WDW in July, I will drive the hour to a target if the special is a good one..:)

anyone care to explain??

If you have a Target Visa or a Target debit card (their Red Cards), you can purchase Disney GCs and get 5% off. So, for $100 worth of Disney GCs, you will only pay $95. I'm not sure it's worth an hour drive for that (our gas is over $4 a gallon), but . . .

You can also purchase gift cards online through Target.com, if you'd rather not drive to the store. However, you would still need to have a Red Card to get the discount.

We purchased gift cards at Giant Eagle... They had them in $25....$50....$100....$500....

We used them on site to pay off room when we arrived 2 weeks ago...

At Giant Eagle, we get fuel perks.....20 cents for every 50 dollars spent ....that got us 4.00 off the purchased price of a gallon of gas... Up to 30 gallons...so if gas at the pump is $4.05.... We can purchase 30 gallons for .05 a gallon... We fill up my wife's car and we bring 4 five gallon cans and get all 30 gallons at once...

I'm starting to buy up gift cards for my upcoming trip next April, good to know how many gift cards you can do at a time. I was thinking about calling and doing 10 at a time to not use up a ton of time.

As for denominations...I've only seen $50 at the store and online, I only saw $50 as well.

BJ's sells Disney Gift Cards at a discount and if you pay for them with a reward credit card, you are double dipping. For example... The $100 gift cards are $95.99 each. I just bought 5 today. I used my Hilton Rewards Amex to pay for it, so I could get the points for another hotel stay on a different vacation. So, I got just shy of 5% off the gift cards AND points on my credit card. If you used your Disney Visa, you could get the disney redemption points!

Just another option if you don't want to open a Target credit card.... :)

Sam's Club sells the Disney Gift cards at a discount too in case anyone wants to check that out.

You don't have to open a Target credit card - they also have a debit card that withdraws the purchase amount from your checking account, just like if you used your bank debit card (though I think there is a couple day delay). You still get the 5% off with the Target debit card.

We're going to pay for our trip with Disney gift cards purchased from my kids' former school using scrip. We buy the gift cards, and the school gets a 2% rebate. I buy a couple of gift cards every pay day, and once we are able to make a reservation, I'll use them to pay on the room.

Should be all paid off before we arrive, plus I'll have gift cards for use while we're there.

We will prob be using Target bought GC (just the 5% off ones with debit) to pay for our meals.

We just cancelled the DDP

My son's school uses scrip too. I get the Sam's Club/Walmart cards from scrip (2.5% for the school) and use these to purchase Disney Cards from Sam's Club (6% savings). I could triple dip and use my Disney Rewards card for the original purchase, but the school gets a better percentage when I pay by check.
