? About Paying Off Room

I've got Best Rate for a room in December.

My money situation has been pretty up and down over the past few months so when I was approved for my Disney Visa I went and bought Disney Dollars- about $400 worth. 1) So I could start paying off part of my trip while I had no interest (saving does nothing for me- I always find a reason I NEED to spend the money on something.. so this worked a lot better) My thinking was that I could only use the Disney Dollars at WDW (No Disney Store close enough to need to worry about) and I could make the payments NOW to pay off part of my trip AND earn reward dollars.

For some reason I didn't think about the fact that you're supposed to pay Best Rate with the original form of deposit. Which was on a Debit Card.
I've got a few problems there.. One being the remaining balance of my room exceeds the daily limit of my card. Two being that bank account is getting closed next month and the card will be obsolete.
Will using Disney Dollars to pay off the balance of my room/ pay for meals be a problem? I've only ever used cash in WDW before so I didn't know if Disney Dollars are TRULY treated like cash down there or not..

Hope this isnt confusing.. Sometimes my way of thinking doesn't make much sense..

yes, you can use Disney dollars to pay off your room.

but I think you need to wait until you get there to do this.

most banks these days have a vacation saving account - it might be easier to save that way.

You are not allowed to pay off the best rate room until you get to the resort for your trip. Once there, you can pay with any Disney accepted form of payment including Disney Dollars, Rewards card or normal methods.

There was a post a month or two ago about this and someone suggested this exact same thing. One of the things alot of people don't like about the BRP is that Disney refuses to let you pay it off ahead of time. I'll be there in Dec also, doing a split stay at POFQ and CSR using the BRP. I have a one night deposit paid at EACH resort, but they refuse to let me pay the balance. I'll be buying Disney dollars this weekend, put them on my Disney VISA (to earn points), pay off the VISA online as soon as the total is posted, then put the exact amount of Disney dollars (plus whatever cents I need to make the full amount due) into two envelopes, and have them ready to give to the CM at check in.

I also have an Illuminations cruise for Dec 10th and will be buying some more Disney Dollars this weekend with my VISA, to use to pay it off.

I get the points on my VISA, I can pay off the VISA within a few days, so I don't have to worry about having a big bill when I get home from vacation, plus I know I have the money set aside for the trip and can't touch it.
