Hi everyone, we're newbies here and we have a question about park openings. If a park opens at 9 am do they let you in exactly at 9 or a few minutes earlier? Also in MK after wishes does the park close right away or are there any shops or cs open for awhile after? Thanks for any input. DH and I are going in the last week of Nov and staying at the POR.

In your example, a 9 AM park opening, they actually start letting people in about 15 minutes early. Once they let people in, they hold everyone in one area in the beginning of the park (location varies by park). Then when 9 AM arrives, they drop the ropes and let everyone walk to their desired attraction. There is a small ceremony at all (I think) of the parks at the rope drop.

they usually start letting people through the turnstiles about 15 minutes before and go to where the rope drop/opening ceremony is. where exactly varies based on the park.

major shops are usually open a bit after official closing time.

Closing...keep in mind that there are 15,000 people or so exiting after Wishes, that's not something that happens quickly. Disney is more than willing to separate you from a few more of your dollars, the shops are open while the throng mosies past. :)
