? about online check in for SW

I read on the SW website that I cant use the online checkin if I have a youth in the group my DD6 but she is to old for the pre boarding line. Has anyone had to deal with this before. Do you think I will still be able to pre-board her? Any info would be great Thanks.. Can't wait almost time for our trip

You can't use online check-in if you purchased a "youth fare" which can only be purchased by phone or at the airport, not online. If you have a youth in your group, but purchased their ticket online using sale, internet, advanced purchase or Ding fares, etc. you can still check-in online.

Just check-in line and get those A passes, you'll be fine.

No, you will not be able to preboard with your DD. The age limit is under 5.
You can use online checkin IF you have not purchased a youth fare for her.

I printed boarding passes for all my kids for our trip last wk. The airline has no idea how old your kids are unless you've booked a child or youth fare. I preboarded because one of mine is under 5. They did ask that only parents/siblings preboard, no grandparents or other adults traveling with the group. I preboarded with my 2 youngest and left the older with my mother in the A line. The family in front of me must of felt entitled to preferential treatment since the parents, infant, boy around 5/6, grandmother, and adult aunt all preboarded! I guess the employees didn't feel like confronting them although they did make the anouncement several times. They were the only group of 4 or 5 families that did this.

They don't always preboard in Orlando as there are so many families. Prepare her for the very distant possibility that she might need to sit alone.

Thanks for all your answers, I will do a early online boarding.. Also I would never let my child sit next to a stranger I would change the flight first. Who knows what kind of perv could be sitting there..

Pervs generally don't behave badly in an area where they can be observed.
While I would not really want my child next to a stranger, being worried about a perv would not be in my mind. Health issues are the first.
SWA FAs do everything in their power (limited for sure) to try to get families seated together.

I actually worry just as much about the child being bothersome to an adult.

I've been a little concerned about the possibility that my 6 year old son may have to sit by himself, so I have been practicing on my sweet, but sad looking smile . . . so I can manipulate someone into moving and letting me sit next to him. Okay, I'm half joking . . kind of. I can really turn on the charm when necessary.

Their new policy of allowing you to check in 24 hours prior to your departure, with no youth fare, should really help with this. I'm going to jumping on their website one second after I can.
