?? about National Car infant seat

We are travelling with an infant and will be renting a car through National for a couple days. Has anyone reserved an infant seat through National? I want to make sure they are clean and in good shape. I would hope there is some sort of safety standard that needs to be met. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We've been using National for a few trips now. Previously they were old uncomfy ones thrown on the ground by the outside booth where the cars are kept. Our trip in July the seats were kept inside the office and it was new. I can't say if they discarded all of the old ones or not. But if you get an old one just request a new one in better shape.

It had the five point system which is considered to be safe.
