I can't wait until my trip date gets here. I'm driving myself  trying to finalize my free dining plans. Everytime I think I have it settled, someone posts a review and I think "I should try that place". Ugh!!!

I'm thinking about going to Narcoosee's. I know it is a sig. restaurant and will require 2 credits. That's okay as I probably couldn't afford to eat there otherwise. My question is how "dressed" to you have to be to eat there?
I wouldn't go there with my clothes in tatters, but I wasn't planning on taking anything fancy to wear either.

I saw they have mussels on the menu and my nephew LOVES mussels.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The dress code is considered "resort casual". Some people get really dressed up, some people don't. We went for middle of the road dress. I wore a casual sundress, DH wore dockers and polo shirt.

This is the restaurant where we had our wedding reception, so I highly recommend it, it's a great choice and worth the extra $$.

Shorts and T"s are also fine at Narcoose's--it's what we always wear.

dh went in tank top and jeans I wore a sundress and flip flops. I loved it apart from the server. I had the best soup and dessert ever there - blue crab and butternut squash and some sort of peach mousse thing for dessert. :goodvibes I did get the fillet mignons and they were good but pricey.

My DH and I are there during our honeymoon and we just went in the shorts and shirts that we wore into the park that day. The food and atmosphere were wonderful and you will enjoy it!

My husband and I went there for a romantic dinner to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary :) I wore a pair of dark jeans and a sweater (it was Feb.- very chilly at night). Hubby wore jeans and a solid color t-shirt. We were overdressed :) I think as long as you don't wear a beach cover-up and flip-flops straight from the pool you will be ok :)

By the way, it was yummy. GET THE CHEESECAKE!!!! :)

I guess I'll be calling and adding this to my ADR's. :)

We're doing the Resort Casual they requested. Sundress & sandals for me, Khaki Shorts & a Polo or short sleeve button-up shirt for 16 yo DS. We dressed similarly for CG & were very comfortable. We did however see many people more casually dressed in shorts & t's. They didn't turn anyone away based on dress. So do whatever you are comfy with. We tend to like to dress a little for "special" dinners. It's part of the fun for us.

We leave in two days and are trying Narcosse's for the first time- I am so excited! Any memorable menu suggestions?

That soup was really good. If you want to try to get something similar at home....a box of Imagine Organic Butternut Squash soup, a can of crab, a cup of cream, about 1/4 teaspoon of Thai red curry. It isn't exactly the same, but takes about ten minutes to make.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but this was the worst meal of our trip. We too were on the dining plan, but it wasn't the free dining. We had gone to Cap'n Jacks in DTD the night before and each had 2 lobster tails for our entree and I had crab cakes for my app.

Narc. was supposed to be our "romantic" meal for our honeymoon. It was anything but romantic. It was really loud and the food wasn't comparable to Cap'n Jacks. We both had the surf and turf. We though the lobster was better at Cap'ns. I also had crab cakes and you only got 2 instead of the 3 at Cap'ns. They didn't taste as good either.

Maybe if we hadn't gone to Cap'n Jacks the night before we wouldn't have thought the food wasn't up to par. But it still wasn't romantic like we were expecting for a signature restaurant. If I did it again I wouldn't use 2 credits on Narc. Instead I would use one at Cap'n Jacks, and use one for another meal elsewhere.
