Hi everyone

night before last my 2 year old had to have stitches ....and they need to come out on Tues or Wed....while wer are at Disneyland...we are staying at the Holliday Inn main gate on Katella.....has anyone used the public bus to get around?

Thank you for any help.....oh and the ARt- is it easy to use....do you need to catch the ARt and ride it back into disney and then get on a differnt one to get to another location?

Thanks again....we are not renting a car....didnt think we would need one....and it wasnt on our budget :confused3

Before you leave buy a small pair of sharp/pointed sissors and a new pair of tweezers. That is all you need to take the stiches out yourself. Cut them down the middle, then pull out from the sides. SUPER EASY

I agree with the post above super easy. Save some time and effort on your trip and even in you leave them in a couple days after it will be okay in my medical opinion lol:thumbsup2

Make sure there is no infection and that the stitches are not open anywhere. I would also secure the site with some steri-strips and/ or use some anti-bacterial cream until you go back to the DR. It might be that the aid station can help in some one -- but have no idea. Hope this helps.

If you can give your pediatrician or his nurse a buzz tomorrow, let the person on call for the office know what is happening and get what advice they can give you. It seems odd they would tell you to go to a medical center in another city just to get the stitches pulled. Depending on how long you are gone, they may have some other suggestions for you.

I would definitely follow Patty's advice and have the steristrips handy, as well as the antibacterial cream.

As for medical centers, UC Irvine is just down the road - a 5 minute cab drive away, nest to the Block at Orange (the next freeway exit). Easier than ART, cheaper than renting a car.

Thanks

I did talk with his Ped.....and his stitches are in his eye lid...in the crease of his eye...close to he lashes....so they dont want me to pull them my self....its a hard place to get to and if any part of the stitch is left in....then there is a big chance of infection....my hubby and I thought we could pull them out....but Im not sure yet...it just depends on how they look on Wed.....thank you for the suggestions :goodvibes

well were off in 13hrs....flying to DL :cool1:

Have a great time!

Also, I forgot to mention that Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) is also 10 minutes from DL, if you want that option instead.

HAVE FUN!!!
