So, May 2 was just put up on the Disneyland website. I just found it unusual, because DL is open until 8pm :sad1: and DCA is open until 9pm..

Is it just me or does it seem unusual for DL to close earlier than DCA? Could it be some special event?

I am just hoping that the rest of the week is not like this... Crossing fingers!

There aren't any "entertainment" shows or events (fireworks, etc.) listed. I hope that will change!

This is common. The calendar updates hours first and entertainment later.

We always go in early/mid May and Disneyland closing at 8:00 pm during the week is how it usually is. We have always had the experience that Disneyland is only open later on Friday, Saturday and Sundays during this time. I agree that it is unusual that DCA is closing at 9:00 though.
The entertainment such as Fantasmic and Fireworks is usually only scheduled on the weekend but there is usually a parade in Disneyland once a day.
My understanding is that World of Color is still showing nightly.
I wish that Disneyland could provide their calendars further out so we could plan sooner!

Maybe DCA is staying open later because of WOC. I am wondering if they do the WOC show on weekdays, or if they limit it to the weekends like Fantasmic! ??? I'm really no help, I guess I am wondering right along with you :rotfl:

WoC has played nightly, once a night in offseason, twice in regular season and 3 times during peak season. However the last show starts right after the park closes, so that wouldn't be the reason for a late DCA close.

It's possible there is a private party in DL, this shifts people to DCA, and when DL has to close extra early Disney adds hours to DCA.

But since these hours are on the Monday and Tuesday, it seems really odd. Probably something is planned that hasn't been announced yet. There is no law that says DL has to have longer hours than DCA.

Not that the two bolded things are related.

Since the sun set later, a single show of WoC will probably have to start later. It possible it will be too bright out to do a WoC at 8:15 so they pushed it back to 9:15 and streched the park hours to match that.

Also F! will be down starting on April 25th for a rehab.

There is another thread discussing the beginning of May hours right here. You may want to check it out. Maybe they can be merged.

:scared1::scared1:
How long is F! going to be down for?

A heard a few weeks. It's a scheduled rehab, nothing to do with the newest incident.

Skiingfast, do you have a link? I found a list of refurbs but it only lists rides and restaurants - nothing about F! was mentioned. Thanks!

No sorry, I actually heard about this from somone who called Disney and was asking why F! wasn't on the first of May.

Sure enough it's not on the official schedule from the 25th of April on. Even though the last week of April has longer hours, no F! on any day after the 25th but RDCT is on each night as far as the entertainment schedule goes.

Of course as we go into May, if F! is down it seems a lot more likely that the POTC 4 film will show on ROA.
