I am taking a cruise before I go to WDW for 8 days, so I will have quite a bit of luggage. I was wondering do I have to bring ALL my bags on the cruise with me if I am only planning on using 1 or 2 bags on theship? Does Disney have some system set up where they can store my bags somewhere else for me while I am on the ship? Thanks

Cristen

There is no storage at the port. If you are driving your own car, or a rented car, you could leave some of your luggage in the car.

Also, keep in mind that DCL has a limit of two pieces of luggage per passenger. (Not counting carry ons.)

hmmmmm...

not sure what to do then. What do people do when they have more than the max allowed for bags, and still have their WDW stay coming up? I was going to rent a car, but not until I got back from the cruise.

Any suggestions?

just the first thing that came to mind, can you mail yourself them to your resort??
We are going to do the cruise then WDW - but right now the plan is to drive down. If not, I'll be mailing the extra stuff to the resort or my sisters. I figured going in Dec, we will need warmer items for the parks.

Most hotels will accept US mail or UPS packages for soon-to-be guests, sometimes attaching a small charge. You might contact your WDW resort and see if this is a possibility. You also might have to ship things home, because the cruise luggage limits are the same as most airlines (2 bags per ticketed passenger plus a carry on.)

Check with your TA.. I believe that you can store your bags at the resort that you will be staying at after the cruise..

thank you everyone, I will check into the resorts.

We are sailing on the January 17th Magic Western. We had the same question because we will arrive at Disney on Jan 13 and will be returning to WDW after the cruise for 3 more days. They said they would be happy to store any luggage at our hotel while we are on the cruise. We were told to call the front desk and ask for the Bell Hop Dept. - tell them how many bags we want stored and they will pick them up and put them in the storage dept.

one more thing - We are staying at the same hotel before and after the cruise - this might make a difference. (We are staying at the All Star Movies)

Hope this helps....BmarieT@aol.com

that does help, I will call the WL. Thanks again.

Cristen.......As a veteran of three land/sea vacations thru DCL here is how we pack..........one piece of luggage for shoes then pack everything you think you need.....and then take half out!! Yes, I have myself, DW and two DD's 13 and 11. We still brought too many clothes. The luggage DOES fit under the beds in the staterooms.....even the large bags. You can fit at least 4 large under the bed. Out of sight. I know you are on vacation but, there is laundry facilities at WDW and on the ship. DW has a "thing" about bringing back "dirty" laundry.

Also my eldest DD(13) took 2 tote bags with that she folded and put in her suitcase. Thus, DCL allows 2 per passenger to board.......there is no rule about how much you can remove.......

We stayed the night before at radisson Port canaveral and they will hold your bags and car seats until the return. Free.
