Hello everyone!

It will be our 13th anniversary in August and I love the idea of doing a monorail/resort crawl or "progressive dinner" as we call them.

Start somewhere for drinks, then apps, then dinner, then dessert.

Couple of questions:

1) where do you all suggest???

2) will I need ADRs for all of them? or do most places at the resorts have a bar area where you can get drinks/apps without a reservation?

THANKS for any and all help/advice!

:goodvibes

Here's where the lounges are:

Contemporary: Outer Rim Lounge, by Chef Mickey's (noisy, not sure about food)
The Wave (no ADR needed and the bar has an appetizer menu)
California Grill (more difficult as you will not be given access to the restaurant if it is full, but they serve the full menu in the bar and lounge)

Polynesian: Tambu Lounge (has its own appetizer menu)
Kona Sushi Bar

Grand Floridian: Mizners Lounge (have heard you can order some appetizers from Citricos here)
Narcoosee's has some limited bar seating and I think you can order food here
Citricos has counter seating (not technically a bar), may be easier to get without a reservation

Off the monorail, but many like to throw it in:
Wilderness Lodge's Territory Lounge. Has its own appetizer menu

I would get an ADR for whichever place you actually prefer to sit in the restaurant and order an entree.

If you don't want to do that, you could do very well just eating the offerings from the bars.

after looking at our plan of attack for that day - - here is more info that will probably help in the planning process.

the day in question will be our Epcot day and Illuminations is at 9pm.

If would be great to end up back at Epcot in order to catch Illuminations (we're early eaters)

or are there places that will be open AFTER illuminations to catch dessert/night cap? (eta: ESPECIALLY if there is somewhere fantastic to get some creme brulee - DH's favorite and from what I hear, readily available and fantastic at the World).

thanks!

Tambu quit serving food at 10 (Kona Sushi Bar also shut down at that time). I don't know about the other lounges but they may do the same. They're open a bit later for drinks, but no food. I don't recall any of the Disney restaurants serving after 10 either. If you want creme brulee after Illuminations, when the show ends, walk out the International Gateway and go to Flying Fish at Boardwalk. See if they will let you sit at the counter to order some creme brulee and maybe a nightcap. If you get there soon enough after the show it may work.

If getting to Epcot for Illuminations is a priority, I would start early - lounges open around 5:30. You can start at either end of the monorail line - Contemporary or Polynesian.

If you start at Polynesian and end at Contemporary, take the monorail from the Contemporary to TTC and switch to the Epcot monorail (the monorail ride to Epcot takes about 13 minutes not including whatever time you will spend waiting for it to arrive, and it will drop you at the front gate, in which case you will need to walk to the World Showcase)

If you start at Contemporary and end at Polynesian, walk from the Polynesian to TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.

If you schedule it so you end at Contemporary, you could also walk from Contemporary to MK, take a bus from MK to Beach Club or Boardwalk and enter Epcot from the International Gateway, right into World Showcase.
