I know you can purchase merchandise in the theme parks with your KTTW card, but what about counter lunch service and the street vendors? I'm hoping to avoid carrying cash. Also, can someone tell me if you can purchase the same with US key card.

OK, I know I am setting myself up here with this dumb question but...

what is a KTTW card?

KTTW card = Key To The World card (more commonly known as your room key or resort ID).

If you set your room key up to allow charging at check in, you are allowed to charge back to your room. As far as I know, all of the counter service restaurants are set up to accept KTTW cards. We used our cards to charge food items from several counter service places to our room. Not all of the street vendors/carts are set up for that, though. You'll have to ask individually.

Not exactly sure what is meant by US key card. If you mean Universal Studios, I do not know the Universal Hotels policy/set up.

I either never knew or forgot that the resort id had a name.

No need! :D :D I asked the same question the first time I saw that abbreviation. It's not one of the more commonly used abbreviations.

Some vendor carts will let you use your room key charge and some won't. Balloon vendors take cash only. We had no problem using the room key charge at any counter service restaurant except the Rainforest Cafe at AK. They do take it, but the computer system was down. They had to do it manually and then it appeared twice on the bill, but that was fixed at checkout with no major drama. Each day, I carried $100 in case and the room key card. This way, I never needed to run to the ATM. I brought the cash from home, so the remainder stayed back in the room in the safe. We never needed more than $60 a day in cash, but I always like to keep a little back-up. Mickey
