We have five year old son with autism who is somewhat of a wanderer. Is the big pool at Kidani fenced with gates? We stayed at BLT recently and liked that there was locked gates that made us feel safer if he started to bolt. We keep a close eye on him at all times, but that added layer of security helps. Is the Kidani pool similar or is it more open like Stormalong Bay at BCV?

TIA

It does have a fence around the pool with a gate to enter the pool area. But there are all sorts of nooks and crannies where a small child could hide. It's not wide open spaces.

When we were there earlier this month, the gates were never locked. And I agree with the pp, there are alot of nooks here and there that a kid or adult could hide in.

I agree with the other posters. There is a gate around the perimeter. Here are a few pictures of the pool and surrounding area.

last month when we were there I noticed that the gate at the top of the complex near the fitness club was lacking a latch. the gate behind the bar was on an eletronic lock with an out release just 5' away. As a parent of three I did feel a little uneasy at times when one of them was out of site, but able to locate them in short order. The childrens area with the water guns and tipping buckets is nice because there is only one unobstructed pathway in. At the top of the stairs there is a gate with a child "resistant" latch on it and is marked as "Cast Members Only". And we all know how everyone follows the rules!
