I know I read about having clothes ironed on board - we actually did it last year and it was great - but I don't remember how long it took for them to come back.

If we send them out on Saturday afternoon when we get our luggage, will they be back before we have to dress on Sunday (late seating)?

Hi Goofy Girl! I know that I have sent out my ironing and worn it on Formal Night so must be it can be done. I probably tracked down our cabin steward and made sure it got where it needed to be on Saturday afternoon - wanted to be sure it didin't get lost in the shuffle. I usually have DH's suit and shirts done as well as my own dress.

I must be an extremely poor packer to require the additional pressing and very lazy as to not do the shirts myself but hey - I am on vacation!

My sentiments exactly! I am on vacation, and frankly , I'm thinking I won't even iron the clothes before we go - and just let them handle the evening wear...

Thanks again!:jumping1:

Count me in on this one!

I'm sending our formal wear (and a few dresses) out to be ironed as soon as I unpack.

Last year, I learned the hard way what happens on formal night when one has to iron a shirt at the last minute. The laundry room is like a sauna!

A hint: Try to pack all the stuff you want ironed together in a bag. Write up what's in there. As soon as you get your luggage pull out the slip, transfer info to the DCL slip and track down your cabin stewart to hand it off to him.

We did this and our stuff was returned and placed in our closet first thing the next morning.

Life is soooooooo good on board 'cause that stuff doesn't happen at home!!

When you think of all the various things you spend money on, an extra $20-$30 for pressing is the least thing you will probably pay that will save scads of time and add to your shipboard pleasure.

On our last cruise I told DW I would gladly pay for pressing anything she wanted

Many things travelled ok (most of my slacks were fine), but we sent out the things that didn't.

We spent only about $15 on pressing stuff. It came back next day. And never thought about laundry or ironing again.

Give your self a gift. The gift of time. Enjoy your cruise not the laundy.
