I currently have the IPOD Video and I'm considering purchasing the IPOD Touch.

When I sync my new Touch the first time, will it automatically download all the playlist I currently have on iTunes? Or will I have to start all over?

Also, can you use external speakers with it? I know the 2nd gen can be used without the ear buds.

Do I have to have special software to download photos?

I went to my Apple store yesterday, but it was so packed that I couldn't speak to a salesperson.

I appreciate any info you can give me.

Thanks.

You can definitely put your current playlist on your new ipod. I did just that exact thing a month ago.

You don't need any software to put photos on your ipod.

I have the first generation, so I can't answer your speaker question. I would have to imagine that you would still be able to use external speakers though.

When you sync your new iPod with iTunes, it will automatically use your current playlist(s).

Additional software is not necessary to add photos.

With the 2nd gen. iPod Touch, you can use the built-in external speakers to hear audio from any source (music, podcasts, videos, etc.) without having headphones connected, however, the sound is not great. You can also dock your iPod on to an external speaker system like an iHome or a Bose system (you can see these systems at any Apple store, or almost any store that sells iPods)

Hope that helps! :)

You will love it. In my humble opinion it is the best iPod ever.

Yes, the 2nd gen has an external speaker but it is not of the highest quality and uses more battery life than the ear buds. Personally I find the speaker handy for showing a group of friends a Youtube video, but if I am listening to music or watching a movie by myself, I prefer the earbuds.

Not sure what you are asking. The iPhone has a built in camera but the iPod Touch does not. So I am not sure what pictures you would need to download.

Call Apple. Their customer service reps are great over the phone.

I appreciate any info you can give me.

Thanks.

Your welcome.
