? about internet service at OKW

We are thinking about bringing our laptop for our 2 week stay at OKW!!

Part of me says yes, another says no. I don't want my DD's fighting over computer time and IM ing all the time.

My question is: if I decide not to get service in the room, could I take my laptop to the lobby and get wireless service?

If I do decide, I forgot how we did it before (maybe dh remembers) but how do I go about it?

To the best of my knowledge there is no wireless service at OKW. There may be some at BW near the convention areas but don't think that is very convenient and am not certain it really exista. If you want to use the internet in the room there is a cable there to connect to it. If you have left credit card info at check in it will be automatically charged to the room. The charge is for a 24 hour period starting when you first log on. Last September we would stretch it out so that we ended up with only 2 days charges in a five day period.by having some times when no one used it. I signed up for a free dial up service (10 hours per month) and was able to use that when we went at Christmas. I found a local number and the only charge I had was for the local phone call. This year I will do the same thing. I signed up for a trial membership for the dial up service at $4.97 a month with no long tern obligation and while it is slower it works just fine.

Not sure I quite follow about being charged for a 24 hour period from when you first log on??

If I log on and check email then log off and it only takes say 5 minutes, does that 5 minutes go towards the 24 hours? Or, if I log on on day 1 and we leave on day 14 am I charged for 14 days??

How much per day? Thanks......we leave tomorrow.

If you log on at 9am on Monday the 24 hours goes to 8:59 am on Tuesday. You are charged for the 24 hours when you log on. It was $9.95 per 24 hours. If you do not log on again you are charged for that 24 hour period only. If you log in again say on Wednesday at noon you then have 24 hour use of internet until 11:59am on Thursday and another $9.95 charge. If you only use 5 minutes you are still charged for the 24 hour period starting with when you logged on. This is why I signed up for the free 10 hours a month dial up service. That way each time I log on the cost is only for the local call. There are several local access numbers from WDW so I only paid a couple of dollars and had 10 hours of service for the week we were there- plenty of time for checking emails etc. I set it up before I left home.
