? about infant in stateroom

There is a possibility we maybe adopting a baby, not set in stone as of yet. We are booked in a cat 10, 4 of us. If this does happen the baby would be about 9 months old. Will DCL let a cat 10 have 4 people and an infant in it? And what are infants charged? Like I said it isn't set in stone yet, trying not to get my hopes up. My best friends foster daughter might be pregnant and would give the baby up for adoption and we volunteered to adopt if she is.

Infants do count towards the maximum in the room, so you would need to either book two rooms or go to a Cat. 4. We are in the same boat (no pun intended!) with our baby to be that will be 6 months on the reposition. We ended up booking two Cat. 9's. You will just pay port taxes (about $99) for the infant, but if you book two rooms you will have to pay adult fare for two in those rooms even if they are kids.

I just added my 3 week old to our Magic Eastern cruise when she will be 7 months. I am paying port charges of $173 so it depends on your cruise/ports. I think the price is great considering I'm paying more for her airfare. In my case we picked a room for 4 and only had 3 people before adding the baby.

We had to book a stateroom for 4, DH, me, DS and DD who will be 1 year when we go on the western in April. We're booked for a "guaranteed" category 6, which as I understand it, there aren't any cabins available right now with an occupancy of 4. She costs us $139 for the week. Pretty good deal.

We booked our cruise for this August, last August when we were onboard. It my daughter and I at the time. a few months ago i added my neice. Then, surprise of all surprises, we had a two month old placed with us in April. She will be six months when we cruise in August. I called DCL the day she was placed in my home. I was told the cruise was full, that we had a three capacity cabin, and it could not accomodate four. I did not have the option of getting another stateroom, as I will traveling alone with three children, and am already paying adult fare for one of them. I was majorly bummed. It took WEEKS of me calling every morning. they were finally able to add her. The cost is around 175. DO NOT take it for granted that just becasue they are babies, we can just add them!!!! That's not the way "inventory control" works. Also, remember that you will need extra documentation for traveling with a foster c hild, if that's what she is at the time.....

Bottom line, the infant does count toward cabin capacity. Thus, if you already have 4 people in a 4 person cabin, you cannot add an infant to that room.

If you have 3 people in a 4 person cabin, you can add an infant. If you have 3 people in a 3 person cabin, DCL MAY be able to move you to a 4 person cabin in the same category. If baby makes 5, your only choice is to move to a higher category or get 2 rooms...or consider leaving the infant at home with grandma.

Please remember that while you will only pay port taxes on the infant, you will also pay for any babysitting time you use in Flounder's Reef.

Also (I'm the mom of an adopted daughter), please consider carefully whether you want to take the baby out of the country before the adoption is finalized. I'm probably just a worry wart, but.....and you will need extra documentation if you choose to take the baby.
