? about holding account pts for ressie

I want to rent any DVC 2 bdrm for the week of 12/16 to 12/23/05.... I am assuming that I will be waitlisted. I have 166 pts in my holding account that have to be used before 2/1/06 but I have 270 pts available still for next year, (use yr is February) these are my 2006 points. If I waitlist how do I do it? Do I have to borrow the 2006 points needed to get on the waitlist? If the waitlist comes through within the 60 day period for using my holding account pts can I use those and put my borrowed points back? If I can't put them back persay what happens to them ? Can anyone help with this?

You can't go on the waitlist using the Holding Account points until 60 days before arrival. If you secure the reservation using borrowed points you probably won't be allowed to re-allocate later using the Holding Account points- and even if MS would allow it, the borrowed points can't be returned to their original Use Year. In addition, they could not be banked and would expire at the end of the current Use Year (January 31, 2006).

Not a lot of good options for this. I'd suggest only using the Holding Account points (even if you use them at a non-DVC resort) sometime prior to January 31- or you could try to rent them. Availability thru the end of the year is pretty limited at this time.
