OK...I know it is early, but is it ever TOO early for us obsessive planners??

We are planning a fall trip with another family. We will arrive 10/30 and leave 11/6. We are WDW vets but have never been there over Halloween. Here's the cast...2 sets of parents, my DD's (13 and 15) friend's DS's (14 and 11, both are special needs children with autism related disorder) and their DD (age 5). Now all of the older kids wouldn't mind skipping the whole trick or treating/costume/halloween thing, but the 5 yr old LOVES everything about halloween.

I know that MNSSHP would be an option for halloween night, but the boys don't do terribly well in massive crowds and I am afraid it would be too many people.

We will be staying at OKW. Do any of the resorts do anything on halloween night?? We don't need a 3 ring circus, any kind of halloween activity would probably do.

Does anyone know how bad the crowds get at MNSSHP on halloween night?? Or if any of the resorts have any smaller scale activities going on??

Yhanks for the advice.

I've been to MNSSHP on Halloween night, and I wouldn't advise it to you. Even though they limit the number of tix sold, it was pretty crowded. They will probably have a MNSSHP on the 30th as well, but I would bet that since that is a Saturday it would be just as crowded.

I know they have trick-or-treating at the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney. I'm sure all the resorts pass out candy at the front desk and in the gift shop as well. My vote would be the Boardwalk. They probably would have some great entertainment going on, and there are lots of restaurants and shops to trick-or-treat at - not to mention the nearby resorts!

We went to MNSSHP on Halloween and our two nieces and our son had a blast. Go and enjoy. It may be a bit crowded, but it is an event to see. OKW doesn't reall do anything for Halloween that I remember.

I've been there twice. Remember, "crowded" is a relative term. Will there be a lot of people? Yes. Will it seem like spring break? No way. Longest I waited for any ride (Winnie the Pooh) was 30 minutes. Many rides, as the night wore on, were walk-ons.

It's a wonderful night with many seldom seen characters in attendance. It's a great time to enjoy the park at night--which is my favorite. Plus, it's not like an e-ticket night with a few rides open. The whole MK is open so there are many places/rides that are very uncrowded. With your special needs, I cannot say go or don't go. I can only say I would never miss it.

I've been to MNSSHP on Oct. 31 for the past 6 years and after last year's - I won't do it again. At least not on Halloween - it was sweltering humanity. People pushing and shoving and there was nothing special on Halloween night versus any of the other nights the party is held. My suggestion is go on any night OTHER than 10/31.

But it is a sight to see at least once. ENJOY!

We have been to Halloween twice and are planning it again this year. There is a crowd, but once the night wears on, there is no waiting for rides. We love this about MNSSHP and buy tickets for all the nights it is going on while we are there. You can't beat taking 3 boys 5, 12, 13 on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Haunted Mansion over and over, and at night time too. We love it!!!

thanks for all the responses...if it was just my kids I'd probably chance it, but since we have some different needs on this trip we may just try to do our trick or treating at Boardwalk (that's a great idea...thanks).
