? about Fantasmic show at MGM,

Last time we went to DW in Sept. '03, we skipped the show cause we were tired and cause we didn't want the kids to be scared of the fireworks. kids were 19 mths, and 5 at the time. My daughter, 3 now and when we go, is scared of the noise that fireworks make, in fact she calls it thunder and she will cry. we have been going through this since they have been selling the fireworks here in town for the holiday.

so, my question is: I know they have the characters mixed in with the show, but is the whole time the show is going are the fireworks going? or are the fireworks just at the end of the show? we only seen the fireworks at Epcot on the last trip, and she was asleep at the beginning of that, and then we were holding her the rest of the time, and she was 19 mths.

so, it is ok for a 3 yr. old? or should it be something that we wait for maybe a trip in the future?

My recollection is that the fireworks are mostly at the end (a few are used here and there for special effects, if memory serves). There's also a big firebreathing dragon which might scare some kids -- I'd suggest sitting towards the back if you expect that to be an issue, since if you're up front you can feel the heat from the fire. (Very cool, if you like that sort of thing. )

It is a show not to be missed. Kids love this show. We had several kids between the ages of 4-11 and they thought the show was amazing, the fireworks are mostly towards the end with a few through out the show but the show is mostly lights, water and characters and really cool effects. Dont miss it..

There are fireworks throughout the show, but it is a must to see. Mickey is the main character. Don't sit in the front rows, sit more towards the middle to back. There is alot going on and the kids would be amused.

I finally just got to see Fantasmic for the first time when we were there in June. My dd5 has an autism spectrum disorder and is VERY sensitive to loud noises so untill this year we had NEVER seen any of the fireworks shows. This year I got her some earplugs. Soft, squishy,foamy ones from WalMart that came in a package of 8 for about 2 bucks(they were in the aisle with eye and ear drops). Best 2 bucks I spent for the whole trip!!!! Seriously, the loud scary noises from fireworks, 3D movies were suddenly a non issue. We just carried them in her fanny pack and when she thought she needed them she got them out and I put them in. At Fantasmic we did sit near the top and at the end of the row just incase but she thought it was totally cool and can't wait to see it again. It was a joy to see her enjoy the very things that a year ago totally freaked her out.Earplugs made our trip.

don't go if she is skittish. There are fireworks throughout. Parts of this show are very "dark" it is a battle of good vs evil with malificent vs sorcerer mickey and a big dragon and loud music and fireworks and water cannons. there is some fun princessey cute stuff, but I'm betting your DD who you already know is anxious about fireworks will be crying and very unhappy. Save it for another trip. It will still be there. I don't understand the rush to get the little ones to experience it all, particularly if you are a family who knows you will be back. Don't misunderstand, no judgements on others, but I think some of these things can wait a bit! If you do go though, the earplugs are a great suggestion!!
