Hi!
I have a DVC annual pass expiring soon and won't be back to Disney until February, so I'm thinking of buying a new DVC annual pass rather than renewing my current one. The difference is $40, but I won't be using it for 3 months and figure I'll gain that on the back end.

But, my question is should I pay for the pass now? Are there any increases on the horizon. If I pay now do they still provide a voucher that you turn in at the gate for the annual pass? Or is the system different now. I'd like to pay it soon in case of any increases, but I don't want the pass to become effective right away.

What's the best way to do this?

Thanks!

I don't know if there is an increase coming (only TPTB know), but you can certainly buy it now, get a voucher for a pass, and turn that voucher in for activation when you're in WDW in Feb. The one year period will start from that date. :thumbsup2

You are doing the right thing.

We had the same situation you have. We waited a month after our pass expired and then ordered new passes. If you renew your current AP it is effective immediately, whereas, if you get a new pass it is not effective until you use it for the first time. Yes, you will have to have the voucher exchanged for the regular AP. We usually do this at Guest Services at DTD or you can do it at any of the Guest Service windows at the parks. We knew we would be going next October (our old AP expired at the end of August), and we are going at the end of next week so we will get at least 2 trips out of the pass, possibly 3:) .

We received vouchers in the mail (look like green credit cards). It took about 10 days. It gave us time to order the DDE card which came last week. It will expire at the end of October '08.

Don't know if there are any ticket price increases coming up but if this is a concern I would go ahead and order a new AP and it wouldn't be effective until you go in Feb. and use it for the first time.

Hope this answered your questions. February is a great time to go, too!!
